“Victory and Allegiance at Victoria and Alfred”

Beautiful setting and location, historic building, great comfort and service. I found this place searching around on the web, and picked it as part of a Flight + Hotel package on Expedia. I was not disappointed. Everything about it exceeded my expectations. They even helped me track down the luggage that didn't make it with me to Cape Town. The breakfast, which was included, was outstanding and the restaurant had tables out on the boardwalk overlooking the waterfront.

Area recommendations

Great places to visit in and around Cape Town that I recommend include Table Mountain, the Cape of Good Hope park, and, of course, the waterfront right outside the hotel.

“Excellent Hotel”

We stayed in Cape Town for business and this was an amazing hotel. Located right on the water, walking distance to everything. Nice rooms, good food, great location, what more could you ask for.

“Great location at the VA Waterfront”

We used this hotel for a 1 day stop at the VA Waterfront and surroundings. Great location, service and rooms. Will visit again.

“Great Capetown Location”

Upon early arrival the room was not ready. We were shown to a waterfront table and offered a drink of choice while we waited. The hotel staff kept us informed and recommended that we explore the local shopping area and return within 30 minutes. Upon return we were shown to the room and our luggage was bought up to the room immediately. The loacation is right on the edge of the V&A complex. One minute walk to many shops, restaurants and cinemas. We had breakfast included with the room, and I could not fault it. Many cold offerings accompanied by a hot cooked breakfast of your choice. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. I would definately visit again. I travel a lot, and Capetown is one of the cleanest, friendliest and pretty cities I have visited. Highly recommended.

Area recommendations

The city is surrounded by culture and history. Robben Island is a must along with Table Mountain and the city bus tour. Hout Bay is a great place to have lunch and people watch, and the V&A waterfront has it all. From expensive gourmet style restaurants to snack bars and fast food. An added bonus are the wine towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoeck. Both are only about 1 1/2 from Capetown. Driving is easy and the roads are very good.

“Highly Recommended.”

Excellent service, very clean hotel. Got upgraded for free without requesting it. Beautiful views of table mountain from the room. Highly recommend this hotel. Would definately go back!!!!!

“Great Place!”

The Victoria and Alfred Hotel was really nice. We were actually upgraded to the Dockmaster's House which is across the road and up a set of stairs. It was the original Dockmaster's home but has been very nicely renovated. The staff was very attentive and we enjoyed the modern amenities in an older historic building.

The Waterfront is a great place for visitors to stay with lots of accomodations, restaurants, shopping.
