Nice hotel, close to hospita, shoppingl and beach.Posted Oct 7, 2014
I took advantage of online rate, check-in process was smooth and desk clerk was polite and accomodated my late check out request. Breakfast had some nutritional and not so nutritional choices. Quite and comfortable. Pool well maintained. Ask for 1st story room if you don't want to carry luggage up stairs no elevator).

Hotel room smelled awful.Posted Oct 6, 2014
The man at the front desk was not friendly. The room had a sour smell when you turned on the air conditioner. You couldn't leave the sliding glass door open for fresh air because there was no screens. I called the front desk that evening and the woman that answered did not offer help. When checking out we asked for a discount but was not given one.

FlexiblePosted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff. Clean decent sized room.
Cons: Shower drain extremely slow. We told them and I assume they'll fix it.
We had a reservation for a Friday night but plans changed and we needed it Thursday instead. No problem changing the date. We arrived early before official check in time and they had no problem with letting us get to our room early since it was already made up. Only negative is we weren't able to get the lower Thursday rate since it was booked through Expedia.

convenient, attractive ,quiet, comfortablePosted Sep 18, 2014
My only problem was carrying the suitcase upstairs. I was initially offered up or down stairs when I didn't realize there was no elevator.

Room was muggy and had a wet spot on the rug and we could figure if something was leaking.

Not Bad in CapitolaPosted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: Breakfast was plentiful
Cons: Carpets need to be replaced or at least cleaned
Location: Close to everything. Not walking distance, but 10 minutes to the Boardwalk, Capitola main street and beaches
The Hotel was o.k. It's old and needs rehab. Beds were comfortable but carpet is dirty, pool needed cleaning. I wouldn't spend a week here but one night was o.k.

Wonderful layout and groundsPosted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: The grounds
Location: Santa Cruz for a beach and boardwalk.
This hotel has three buildings, each with a few rooms up and down stairs, so it gives the feeling of being in a small hotel. The grounds are beautiful, like staying in a park. While the buildings are older, they are well cared for and the overall stay was great.

Clean, Comfortable, AffordablePosted Aug 19, 2014
Nothing fancy here, but the hotel is clean and comfortable, and the location is central. A good option in otherwise pricy Capitola area.
