Probably the best hotel in Caracas. Staff are very helpful and room was clean. The room they gave me at check-in hadn't been cleaned so they upgraded me and gave me a free bottle of wine. The gym is good too.

A JW experience in Caracas!Posted Apr 21, 2011
Always Caracas is a challenging destination and more over the past few years. I visited this city in the past and I am amazed about how it changed, the deterioration of the city and services shock me!. In general the JW Marriott is a good chain but this hotel is the main exception, it is really expensive for what it is!. Old, not well mantain and the decor is exactly as the one from the old days. Good food, excellent location and safe... this last item is important in a really violent city where everyone from the taxi driver to a shop employee is trying to get advantage of the general confusion. It is really, really expensive and it does not reflect what the JW Marriott may protect.... their name!.

JW Standards, always at the topPosted Sep 11, 2008
As always, friendly service, constant attention. Only complaint would be few taxis at the hotel.

Nice & clean, but expensive & not outstandingPosted May 22, 2008
From the hotels that we saw on-line and during our visit to Caracas, the JW Marriott is the best kept in town. It has the cleanliness and ammenities you find in other JW Marriott's across Latin America but the two things that left us a bit unpleased where the service - nobody could recommend places to visit or how to get to the museums & tourist points we were interested in seeing - and the prices, which are high even for current Caracas standards. Another let down was the lack of taxis. There are very few on site and everybody tries to scare you from walking or taxing a taxi from the street because of "insecurity". During our week stay, we ended up walking all over town and flagging cabs on the street... much cheaper and no security issues encountered.

Getting VERY ExpensivePosted Mar 12, 2008
The Marriott is one of the best hotels in Caracas but I will say is the equivalent of an European, Canadian or even American 3 stars hotel. The staff is very well trained and atentive but the rooms and the food are astronomically expensive.
