good value but could be improved
Posted Jan 17, 2013
Good value for money, although small things could have made a difference, room could have been a bit cleaner and the rooms need a kettle and there was no shower gel. Our window did not open which was a bit claustrophobic. Connecting to the internet in our room was made far to complicated when it could have been easy. Reasonable value for money but could be improved with a little effort and small expense.

Great for short break
Posted Jan 23, 2012
Pros: Great price and value for money
Cons: Tiny coffee cups and sofa bed but still comfortable enough. Would have liked more public transport information available.
Location: Uphill walk - only 12 minutes from station but a good half hour to Cite
Excellent value for money. Quiet - excellent bakers, butcher and tobacconist close by.

The good;Clean, good parking, pool, very helpful and friendly staff.Plenty of hot water and a good shower. The bad ; Room very basic, sofa bed (why ?)uncomfortable and difficult to make, very small table, kitchen tiny and NO work surface. Good coffee maker but no where to stand it other than on top of the hob.

A short stay
Posted Jan 28, 2012 on Hotels.com
There is ample car parking. The staff are excellent, and very friendly. The rooms are very basic and the furniture both basic and 'mean' in quality and size. Why the beds have to be 'fold up' rather than standard beds is a mystery,as ours stayed 'un folded' for the entire time. The fact it was 'fold up' meant it was difficult to make and uncomfortable. The room was spacious and the aircon very welcome. The bathroom was fine and the shower very good, with lots of hot water.Oh, the kitchen - pathetic.Sooooo very small with absolutely NO preparation area. Not even a chopping board,so the excellent coffee maker had to stand on top of the hob! There was an iron and hair dryer available at reception, but you had to anticipate the requirement and collect and return, which was a pain. When travelling by air there is a limit to how much can be carried in a suitcase,so, towels are an absolute requirement. Well the towels provided were more like a face cloth and a very small bath towel, so this was poor.Overall reasonable, but if staying in the area for more than a couple of days, we would go somewhere else.

Disappointing
Posted Jan 26, 2012
Pros: easy access off the motorway and a small swimming pool
Cons: no balcony and a very uncomfortable bed
Location: Easy to find and to drive to the city
The bed is a foldout couch - not very comfortable. The room is very basic and boring

Once found, lovely apartments
Posted Jan 2, 2012 on Hotels.com
Difficult to find - the address on the confirmation email was incorrect. Seems this is a common problem as the lady in the bakery we stopped at immediately knew what we were looking for despite us being about 2-3 miles out of our way. The other arrival problem was that the reception is closed after 7pm and you need a security key tag to get in to the grounds. Luckily another couple arrived shortly after us who had been sent a text with the gate code on, otherwise we'd have been stuck. However, once we were safely in our room, the stay was very enjoyable - room was quite big, a little kitchen and nice bathroom. The breakfast was nice although on our second mornings few items had run out and weren't replenished. Easy to get a bus into town and cheap taxi back, also a quick drive up to the medieval city. The lady on reception was very helpful with advice on transport.

Bit far out
Posted Jan 24, 2009
The hotel was lovely. Very clean and nice pool area. The receptionist was very helpful and spoke very good English. It was a little far out, 20mins walk from the new town, and 50mins from the medieval town, so good if you like a nice stroll after a meal!

if sleepless nights are your thing this is for you

well the pix looked g8.but bed was really the sofa and though i loved the firmness obviously lumps and bumb from when its folded.only one small pillow, one sheet and one blanket which had pubic hairs on it.tv.could only get one english channel.CNN.but it wasnt really tuned unwatchable.has no tea cups .you can make tea in the coffee machine just add t-bag instead of coffee.but the cups were itsy bitsy expresso cups.i had read other reviews that mention this but didnt reall grasp how small they were.purchased two tacky tourist cups at about £5 each.BUT BY FAR THE WORST OFFENSE TO CAUSE WAKING EVERY HOUR OR SO WAS THE FACT THAT DISPITE THEIR NOT BEING MUCH WIND,WHAT LITTLE THERE WAS WAS ENOUGH TO MAKE A CONSTANT DRONE OUTSIDE THE WINDOW/DOOR AND SHUTTER.I THINK TO ENTER THE AIR CON.TO STOP YOU COULD OPEN THE DOOR BUT THAT SHUT OFF THE AIRCON AND OPENED UP THE ROAD NOISE FROM OUTSIDE.FIRST NIGHT I THOUGHT IT WAS SOMONE HOOVERING UPSTAIRS .the kitchen was small but had all the things you might need, but whos going to stay in and cook?we also had to by our own soap to wash with and their is no cleaning unless you stay over a week.the mop is kept in the clothing cupboard where the pillows are kept,so they smell nice, not.in summery..one night fine ,two maybe but after 5 we were exhusted.ofcoarse this may just be our room.who knows

excellent but a little out of town
Posted Jan 17, 2009
New apartment hotel, about 2km form the railway station out of town but an easy walk without bags. Aircon brilliant, beds comfortable, apartments well equipped with most kitchen stuff you'll need, shutters very effective. Bakery at end of car park. Reception staff speak excellent English and very helpful with taxi bookings etc. Remember it is an apartment hotel so you're room isn't serviced every day.
