Great location to see the medieval city.Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: The young man at the front desk with a great smile and the surprises they left in the room on the 2nd and 4th night.
Cons: Pool better heated. More variety in hot food at breakfast.
Location: See medieval city, visit Narbonne and eat oysters at Meze.
Garden nice but pool too cold but the remainder was pleasant. Breakfast had no variety at all fom day to day. Breakfast and desk staff very helpful.

A spectacular experience!!Posted Jun 26, 2014
Cons: No suggestions for improvement. It would have been great to have dinner there but we were there outside the peak season, so I understand the closure.
This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The room was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The restaurant was closed for dinner on Tuesday and Wednesday when we were there but we had breakfast in the hotel and that was excellent. The garden is an oasis of quiet after a day of sight-seeing. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. A truly wonderful experience and the highlight of our visit to France.

My retirement celebrationPosted Jun 23, 2014
Cons: Don't rely on the porters to get your luggage to the bus stop/taxi rank on time: Take it yourself: it's not far.
Location: Medieval Carcassonne is a wonderful city - a unique city break experience. Don't waste your time visiting the new city.
I took my daughters, their partners and my partner to this fabulous hotel to celebrate my retirement. The hotel was almost faultless and the city wonderful. They treated me to dinner in the hotel restaurant which has 1 Michelin star: an unforgettable experience. Go there soon before everyone else finds out about it! Jacky

Superb hotel in the centre of the cityPosted Jun 1, 2014
Pros: The location is excellent, right in the centre of the mediaeval city. Everything about this hotel was great.
Location: Carcassonne is a beautiful place, there are plenty of sights to see in the city itself, the new part of the city is also very nice.
Such a beautiful hotel, the staff couldn't have been more helpful, the room was lovely; clean and well kept, and the setting was just amazing. The gardens and pool were very nice, the food in the restaurant was superb. I can't fault it. I will definitely be going back there. Brilliant.

Worth the costPosted May 31, 2014
Pros: The staff is friendly and helpful. The location and views are amazing.
If you're going to Carcassonne, it's worth the extra money to stay at Hotel de Cite. The room was spacious, clean and the location could not be better. The outdoor terrace and pool are perfect when you just want to relax after a long day of exploring. The staff is very helpful and friendly. One even recommended a restaurant in downtown which as good the Michelin rated restaurant in the facilities but half the price. It's also great if you want to explore the city at night. If I return to Carcassonne, I would stay here again.

Great hotel!Posted May 28, 2014
My husband and 18 month old son have just spent 3 nights in this impressive hotel. The location is perfect for exploring and the grounds and views are beautiful. The staff were very helpful. The porters even more so taking us back and forth to the car park and sorting all our luggage. The cocktails are amazing too. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel in a Perfect location!Posted May 10, 2014
Pros: Room decor, cleanliness and position of hotel.
Cons: Transfer system. Waiting area outside walls needs some seats and a shelter.
Location: Location is brilliant right in the heart of the old town next to the basilica. The castle is a couple of minutes walk away only and well worth a visit
Hotel is in a fantastic location to explore the old city. Our room was at the front of the hotel and was beautifully furnished. The bathroom was large and immaculate with lovely french toiletries. Complimentary drinks voucher was provided on arrival which was nice.Staff were friendly and mostly helpful although I didn't expect to be told I couldn't order any food to go with my drinks in the bar area. All food has to be ordered as room service outside of official restaurant times. However there are loads of great restaurants/ cafés in the immediate area so we just ate elsewhere. Also be aware if you book transfers they drop off and collect just outside the city walls. A little hotel car then picks you and your luggage up.This is great but I took my mum and there is not a seat in sight or a shelter. Due to hotel airport transfer not arriving we were left standing in cold for about 40 mins until Romain from the hotel drove past, realised we were about to miss our flight and kindly drove us himself to the airport! I had rung the hotel but they just assured me the airport transfer would arrive soon. So massive thanks to Romain.

Anniversary breakPosted May 7, 2014
An excellent hotel in an exceptional location. All the staff were very professional, helpful and friendly. The evening meal was of a very high standard and not rushed either. Then to be able go out into the town and stroll around when it was quiet with the Walls flood lit was terrific. To be able to do the same in the morning was a real bonus. And then after that, the breakfast was the icing on an already well decorated cake!!!
