Disappointing hotel, definitely not a 4 starPosted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: Nice staff, clean.
Cons: Sort out mould, don't stuff too many people into a room.
Location: 20mins walk from main site. Area around a bit rough for children.
Very cramped room, a lot of mould on bathroom ceiling, dodgy area for families in the evening.

Excellent locationPosted Jul 2, 2014
Nice grand french hotel. Yes a little old but still worth the visit. Reception very friendly and helpful as were restaurant staff. Located centrally. Good enough selection for breakfast and restaurant at night was very good.. Visited Narbonne for a day which is also worth the visit.

Carcasonne a great cityPosted Jun 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
Hotel is really old and you can feel the history everywhere. It has seen better days but the plus is that you get character and big rooms if your prepared to accept its not a Marriot type hotel. The lady and gent on reception were fantastic. They seemed a little frosty but once you share a smile and have a conversation they were exeptional in their willingness t help and have a joke with you. They really helped the stay and were nothing like a number of the other contributers have mentioned. Location is great in that its a steady 20 min walk from the citadel. Carcasonne is everything I hoped it would be and more.

Spacious RoomPosted Jun 7, 2014 on Hotels.com
This was our 1st hotel outside of Paris. This hotel is a former rail station and now conveniently located close to the new rail station. The room was huge with high ceilings and more the size of posh suite in Las Vegas. The decor is old and in need of renovation, but very clean and comfortable. We had the double twin bed which gave us plenty of room. It was nice to see an elevator. It was a quiet and peaceful night. The next morning was Sun so many shops were closed, but we found a flea market and laundromat to wash our clothes. Its about a 15 min walk to the bridge with views of the Cite.

Centre town position close to station and canal.Posted Jun 3, 2014
Pros: An old fashioned building which has not been messed about with The staff
Cons: Access was difficult. Steps up to the main entrance.
Location: Very close to the beautiful canal du midi for cycling, walking or boating. The medieval town was a 15 minute walk. Very interesting.
An hotel of faded glory, with some interesting history. Whilst there I was hospitalised, The manager was very helpful.

beautiful, relaxing and great locationPosted May 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
It was lovely winding stair case made out of marble, if you like history this is it.good location easy to find 25 min walk from castle. And 5 mins from shopping and yummy bakeries. Kind honest staff who posted my dress after leaving my dress behind, one down fall no milk in rooms for coffee....... but cafes are great. Try La boef 3 min walk away restaurant incredible steaks, i am a girl and this was bliss. Nothing from outside no ushering in but it doesn't need it.

Friendly, efficient servicePosted May 25, 2014 on Hotels.com
Whilst the Terminus is past its best it still retains a charm and, importantly, it is very clean & comfortable with particularly friendly & efficient staff. We had a room overlooking the park rather than the main road which ensured a quieter environment for a night's sleep. Would stay again.

Very well situated hotel near to the station.Posted Apr 19, 2014
Pros: Very comfortable and good location. Helpful staff!
Cons: Breakfast was a bit expensive!
Location: Very near the station, shops and canal du midi where you could hire bikes and take a boat ride.
Staff were very helpful and pleasant! The room was comfortable and clean although a little small! Tried breakfast one morning which was ok but expensive! So decided to eat breakfast at restaurant across the road for half the price! Enjoyed swimming in the lovely little pool in the basement and the décor and setting were lovely!

Wonderful hotel in central CarcassonnePosted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: Central location.
Cons: The air conditioning in the room didn't seem to work very well.
Location: Canal du Midi almost outside. There is a train to Quillan (about 90 minutes journey) that only costs 1 euro just now.
Stayed one night in a large family room overlooking the canal du midi and the railway station. Fantastic views from balcony. Free wifi in room. Airconditioning wasn't great and we had to open the windows at night. Small but clean swimming pool. Breakfast provided everything we wanted. Great location. Ideal for a family group- they even had some board games in the spectacular fin de siecle lobby area. Staff were very helpful. We would certainly stay there again.
