“Lovely hotel in Newport”

This is definitely an impressive hotel to stay in - as soon as you drive up to the hotel - the grounds are amazing. The hotel lobby is very grand and the rooms are fab. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone! The pool is just as amazing as in the photo's! A great idea for a weekend getaway!

Good quality Resort Hotel As expected for a large 5* hotel. All service you could wish for Excellent for 6 Nations rugby in Cardiff - the coach transport worked perfectly

“It used to be so good”

A large hotel with good facilities which is spoilt by the sheer number of guests the hotel seems able to pack in. If booking a leisure break just make sure there are no conferences/major functions on the same days.

“Nearly but not quite”

Quite a few niggles... Room 948... Next to the service lift. King bed was 2 pushed together, there was only 1 robe in the room, no room service menu, wrong paper delivered on the Saturday morning. Also bathroom had a bulb missing and an awful lot of silicone to hide cracks/ageing. On the plus side the food was great. Not quite what I expect from 'best uk hotel 2011'! The queue for checkout was also long and slow ( they got my bill wrong too!)
