Ask for a room overlooking the Golf CoursePosted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Better signage for the parking facilities.
My husband and I stayed here on the recommendation of friends. We went there for a 2 night quiet short break. It was anything but. We had loud music from the outside of the hotel, which I was told was from the singer who was there every night and would finish at 11pm. I asked to be moved to a quieter room, but at this point the music stopped. We were told that we would be moved the following night and this would have been arranged for us on our return from a day out. When we returned this had not been done, but a very helpfull young man did arrange this for us. We were moved to the front of the hotel overlooking the M4 and we now had the noise of the traffic. I went down to reception and spoke to the same young man who was more than helpful and he upgraded us to a room overlooking the golf course. If you stay at the Celtic Manor ask for a room overlooking the golf course if you want quiet.

Great hotel, but terrible air conPosted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: Golf, facilities, food
Cons: Air con - not 5* (or even 2*) standard
Hotel, food and facilities are excellent. However, it was hot (28 C) and the air con in room and restaurant proved woeful, making both very very uncomfortable. Go on a cooler day!

Celebrity GolfPosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Our room balcony was a bonus, the staff were attentive and being set amongst the golf courses make the scenery lovely.
Cons: Dealing with our problems seemed to be an issue. Customers do not normally complain for no reason.
We visited Celtic Manor for the Celebrity Cup and Gala Dinner so the hotel was very busy. We did have a few problems which we thought a 5* hotel could have dealt with better but overall it didnt spoil our stay. The room was a good size, everything was clean and we had a lovely view from our balcony. The bar area is welcoming and the service was good. We ate in the Fine Dining restaurant on Friday evening, we enjoyed the experience, all of our food was of an excellent quality.

Another great stay at Celtic Manor, fabulous staffPosted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: Staff, facilities and great Golf!
Cons: Might need a bit of redecorating in some aareas
Location: Play golf on the 2010 Ryder Cup course!
Fourth visit to Celtic Manor over the last 5 years, another great experience only marred by housekeeping failing to remove dirty teacup & glasses on day 2. Otherwise the rest of the experience was fantastic. Can't wait to go back
