the hotel was excellent,the kids enjoyed it very much,they want too go back.

“Good”

Nice hotel. Only issue was, we had to wait for about half an hour at the Verve restaurant for breakfast in a queue .

“Good all-round hotel.”

The hotel was very good. Access from the motorway was very good. The only downside was that it was quite far outside of Cardiff city centre.

“Pretty good - just lacked attention to detail”

- Can't fault location - 10 mins drive from city centre, and under a minute from M4 junction - Room wasn't as clean as it could have been, though satisfactory on the whole - Beds were extremely comfortable - Breakfast ok - nothing special, just standard cereal, juice and full english buffet - 24 hour check-in is handy - Swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, etc a good addition though far too busy to be a major attraction - Would go back - but wouldn't pay full price

“Village Hotel, Cardiff”

Reason for the stay - guest at a wedding. Our room wasn't ready at 1pm when we tried to check in, had to ask if bags could be stored somewhere. Good selection of food at breakfast but we waited ages to be seated.

“Excellent location”

Easy to find next to motorway - easy to get into Cardiff by taxi or train - wwe went in December and it was full of Christmnas revellers which meant the restaurant was booked up! We went down the road to a carvery - otherwise hotel was first rate - staff friendly - pool great - an excellent base for Christmas shopping and Rugby (we did both) - would definitely use this hotel again

“breakfast fiasco”

ok, so there was a big wedding party staying at the hotel but after waiting 20 mins for a table in the breakfast restaurant, it was annoying to find very limited selection of food eg no fruit! duty managers response was "20 mins is a short wait compared to some days"!

“Good for brief stay”

restaurant service was excellent and although the menu at first did not look encouraging, the food was delicious and well presented. Try the house white wine with the meal offer - well worth it.

“Not impressed”

All the staff were very helpfull and everywhere in the public areas (foyer etc) was fine but upstairs the cleanliness was not the expected standard. The carpet in the first floor hallways was thick in dust along the edges (about 3 inch in width) to the point that the carpet looked discoloured, around the fire doors was worse. My room had cobwebs on the cieling (coving) and needed vacuming around the edges. There was a thick crust of built up dust on the beading of the light box above the sink in the bathroom, the toilet bowl was stained with fieces, the grout at the shower end of the bath was growing orange funguss. The bed was clean and comfortable, the leisure facilities were good and the breakfast was lovely shame there was not herbal tea!

“Its OK”

Its just OK, showing its age, was not a great start on arrival due to queuing and ICT problems booking in guests.
