“Fabulous hotel in good location.”
Spent 2 nights there with my partner so I could study and him relax in different surroundings. Hotel looks great, modern, spacious but still cosy. Rooms were nice, lovely white linen, big shower and handwash/moisteriser/soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensers very handy as we forgot ours!. Cleaning staff great, kindly gave me extra milk and coffee as I told them I'd be in the room all day reading, they do a top job, everything was sparkling in the bathroom. Receptionists fab (I used to be one myself in hotels and know what hard work it is), got a call half hour after checking in to find out it I was happy with my room, that's good service for you. Shame they don't do room service but they do serve pub type meals with a few specials in the evening. Breakfast I must admit was mayhem, not the hotels fault at all, moreso us guests who all decided to have a sleep in and get to the buffet area after 9am...all at the same time. If you can get up early, would recommend having breakfast before 8.30, at least with a 1200hrs check out if you are leaving that day you can go back to bed and relax. No orange juice both days which was a shame, the apple juice very wattery. Nothing to complain about though, double glazing blocked all noise from room, air con and fans worked well (once you get the hang of adjusting them), nice comfy bed and big pillows. Magor has a great pub called The Golden Lion that does fantastic gastro type meals, one of the best we've eaten at, only a mile or so away.
