Great price for a decidedly average room

Posted Aug 5, 2014
We booked in to the Park Inn because the sale price was excellent for a city centre hotel. Indeed, the location is really the main selling point for what was an otherwise very plain room and hotel. The bathroom was pretty poor; some large cracks between tub and wall. Fine for a discounted overnight stay in the centre of Cardiff.

Close to train station

Posted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: It was a good value. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable.
Location: Cardiff castle, the museum at city hall had really good artwork and also a natural history section (free). There were nice pubs and shopping.
It was in a good location, right in downtown Cardiff. The train and bus station were a ten minute walk. You could take a bus to the airport that was way cheaper than a cab. It was also an easy walk to Cardiff castle, the museum and the downtown pubs and shopping. The room was clean and comfortable.

Pleasant hotel in the centre of Cardiff shopping

Posted Jul 31, 2014
Pros: Good sized rooms. Everything worked well - shower, air con etc. clean, no noise from road .
Cons: Didn't stay long enough to find any problems
Location: Heart of Cardiff shopping centre. Ten minutes walk from station, 30 minutes walk from Cardiff bay .
Very efficient , clean and professionally run hotel. All run like clock work.

City centre hotel

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: Breakfast for £6.99 excellent value.
Cons: Air con in rooms.
Location: Just on edge of pedestrianised centre so perfect for browsing shops. Close to bars & restaurants.
Close to city centre perfect for shopping and bars and restaurants. Extremely hot during two nights we were there although hotel did provide fans in rooms, windows barely open but do realise this is for safety reasons. After first night managed to change room for one with air con.

The 3 Day Disaster.

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The hotel staff need to be replaced from top to bottom.
Location: we went to the theatre and St Fagan's
We booked into the hotel for 3 nights. Our instructions said book in from 1400hrs we arrived at 1455hrs to be asked to wait 5 minuets, while they got the room ready at 1605hrs we got into the room. We booked a double bed room and confirmed it by phone on Fri. It was a twin bedded room. We complained so they pushed the beds together. We sat on the bed and it split in half again. We complained again and they gave us a new room. As compensation they offered us a free dinner and drinks. WE went to dinner and ordered a drink. When the drink arrived the white wine spritzer was in fact just white wine. We complained to the waitress who did not understand us as she didn't speak English at all. When the meal arrived it was very poor quality and did not have all the ingredients as advertised, The restaurant was dirty and we were the last people to leave at 8 pm and none of the tables had been cleaned. It was one of the worst run restaurants I have seen, Customer service did not exist. We did not eat there again. or drink in the bar as we did not get the drink we ordered. My wife next morning went to use the hotel hair dryer to find it did not work.

Good location

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: friendly staff
Cons: Cleanliness and comfort could be improved. Cooked breakfast is always a problem. It is laying around for too long, turning rubbery.
Location: Good city center location.
The hotel is situated in the centre of the city of Cardiff. The overall experience of staying there is adequate.

Reasonable hotel, convenient for Millenium Centre

Posted Jun 1, 2014
Pros: No traffic noise, good breakfast, nice bathroom
Cons: Bedroom run down - curtains with missing curtain hangers spoilt otherwise acceptable decor. Suggests that day to day maintenance might be improved.
Location: Fairly close to Wales Millenium Centre and some city centre shopping.
Up to expectations apart from noisy graduation party in reception area from afternoon until early next morning.

Never Again

Posted Jun 1, 2014
Pros: Lcation
Cons: Sound proofing
We were given a room over looking the reception which was fine until the party started...... I could not believe that until 1am they were blaring out things like Macarena. Just kept hoping they would stop. I will ever stay there again. There are better hotels nd certainly ones that respect their guests. Can you imagine if you held a room party with music blaring out!
