Nice hotel in the centre of CardiffPosted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: The position of the hotel central
Cons: It could do with a makeover and updating
Location: Opposite Cardiff Castle ,tour of the millennium stadium welsh rugby union,s home, plus very near to queen street shopping the main shopping area.
We stayed for 1 night the hotel is opposite Cardiff Castle which our room overlooked, free wifi in the lobby at no charge, all city facilities were within a short walking distance, the hotel was a bit dated but was good value for the price we paid.

A mid week get away for 2Posted Aug 7, 2014
Perfection. Stunning reception and grand stair chase. The room was very modern and a good size. Very clean you could not fault it. The bathroom was also modern. Only downside is there was no bubble bath provided in small bottles.

Central Hotel but now datedPosted Aug 2, 2014
Cons: Updating throughout
Location: Very good location for city centre, Cardiff castle across road, main train station 10 minutes walk. Millenium stadium across from the hotel.
Used to be the hotel in Cardiff. Sadly, now looks dated in almost every way and probably no longer 4* quality.

The Angel Hotel, CardiffPosted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Space in the room. Double-glazing on the bedroom windows, certainly blocked the traffic noise, you could hear the difference in the bathroom.
Cons: Slight update to bathroom fittings.
Location: Cardiff Castle opposite and a short walk to the gardens to pick up a waterbus.
Very large room, with twin beds. Huge bathroom. The hotel is obviously undergoing refurbishment and I'm sure a great deal of money could be spent on it, to bring it upto a very high standard, with new fixtures and fittings. If they did this the cost would sky-rocket per room. Not sure they would get the money spent back. So as it is, with slightly dated bathroom fittings, for the space you get we liked the hotel. Breakfast was nice, would have liked scrambled eggs, rather than fried. But plentiful. Staff very helpful, we even left our bag there after checkout, while we saw the sights of Cardiff. Air-con in our room worked.

Well locatedPosted Jul 18, 2014
The Angel is in a prime location between Cardiff Castle and Millennium stadium, near the river and just a short walk from CBD and restaurant strip. It may be getting on in years and a few boards creak in the corridors but it still has a an appealing elegance about it. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was a good size and the bath was a welcome personal luxury.

Opposite Cardiff CastlePosted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: Convenient location
Older style hotel which has been modernised yet retails much old world charm. Very convenient location easy walk to Castle and main shopping areas. Although hotel has it's own car parking area, space is limited and it probably pays to confirm that you will have a space available a day or so prior to arrival.
