Excellent value in Cardiff city centre

Posted Jul 17, 2015
Pros: Grand but slightly shabby, staff were welcoming and helpful. Rooms are spacious with great views of Bute Park and the castle from rooms at the front.
Cons: The windows didn't work, air con didn't work and the rooms were far too hot
Location: Bute Park and Cardiff castle are opposite and Cardiff arms park next door. Cardiff Museum is a 5 min walk. Everything is on your doorstep!
The hotel is ideally situated opposite Cardiff castle with a wide range of cafes/restaurants nearby. The Angel has its own parking, but visitors can also park in Cardiff Arms Park car park, opposite the hotel and excellent value. The hotel looks very grand but the staff are lovely and welcoming. Our rooms were large and slightly shabby but very clean and surprisingly quiet considering the location. The only negative was that the air con didn't work, the rooms were very warm and it was difficult to open the windows. It didn't spoil the stay though!

Great location, a bit shabby.

Great location, a bit shabby.Stayed eight nights. Great location, Hotel comfortable but rather shabby. Some nights were a bargain, others were very expensive because of the cricket event taking place.

Great hotel close to Cardiff Castle

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: The staff were so friendly and helpful. The lounge was comfortable and service was great.
Location: Location is fantastic. Cardiff Castle was within easy reach. Plenty of cafes, shops, pubs so plenty to see and do close to hotel and taxi not needed.
Enjoyed my stay at The Angel Hotel. My experience from the moment we entered the hotel was great with excellent service from the front desk. The hotel presented well and was impressive on first sighting. Room was roomy, comfortable, clean and good amenities. Bed was comfortable which was a major plus. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Zentrales Stadthotel

Posted Jul 4, 2015
- schneller Check-in - imposante Eingangshalle - Hotel insgesamt (insbesondere Zimmer, Aufzüge und Gänge) aber renovierungsbedürftig - zentrale Lage gegenüber von Cardiff Castle

Very convenient location.

Posted May 6, 2015
Pros: Centre of town
Cons: Parking.
Location: Location excellent. Castle, tourist bus, wharf easy to get to.
Walking distance to all attractions, shopping and transport. Unfortunately I lift not operating and the other one malfunctioning. Problem with booking but staff sorted it out quickly and efficiently.

overnight stay in the angel

Good overnight stay. Excellent service. They allowed is to use the carpark for most of the two days even after checking out. Nice room. Did get locked in the bathroom due to faulty lock on the door.

Nice staff shame about the guests

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: THe staff.
Cons: perhaps keeping batchelor parties on the same floor and other guests on a different floor.
Location: Brilliant for the rugby and close enough to the shopping centre. If it was not for noisy large parties this would be a wonderful place to stay.
Nice hotel but very dated and in need of refurbishment. All the staff from reception to bar to waitresses were very friendly and helpful. THe food served at dinner was superb, all three courses were well cooked and served with a smile. The downside were the noisy guests who walked the corridors and banging on friends doors all night. With the noisy guests and the creaking floorboards there was not much chance of sleep.
