Nice hotel with good location

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: The staff and the good cooked breakfasts.
Cons: As with most hotels providing coffee/tea facilities there are never enough mini cartons of milk.
Location: Good central location with easy and a short walk from the train station
We enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Royal Hotel. The room was fine for our needs, the only downside being that there was just one very small window, but it was comfortable and cosy. Breakfast was very good value. We had omelettes and eggs benedict made to order and they were perfectly done. All staff were very friendly and we would definitely stay there again.

Perfect hotel for city centre

The hotel is right in the centre although there is no parking you can get your ticket validated making it cheaper if you park at Westgate! Thanks for the free bottle of wine :)

Nice Hotel in City Centre

Posted Sep 25, 2014
Pros: I loved the proximity of the hotel to restaurants, shopping and transportation.
Location: Restaurants, shopping, convenience stores and clubs are within walking distance (some right at the back door). Bus station & taxis across the street.
I felt safe with the secure entry of the hotel and the clean and comfortable rooms. The staff is helpful and attentive.

Absolutely centric

Pros: Its location and its modern look inside
Location: Train and bus central stations. All the shopping centres. The castle. St David's Hall.
The building looks old outside but once you came out of the lift (you have to take a lift to reach the reception) everything looks modern and smart. The hotel is located in the main street of Cardiff, very close to the train and bus central station and the shops and the castle. The street is very noisy at nights but luckily there is a double window and air conditioning. Big tv!

Attractively decorated with period interior.

Pros: Attractive décor and comfortable beds.
Cons: Air conditioning.
Location: Everything a city centre offers.
Upper rooms have interesting views over the city. good location in centre of city. Air conditioning was not working properly but staff were able eventually to open a window.

Nice hotel, good central location

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Good 2 night stay at hotel, convenient location in town centre. Even though the hotel is surrounded by bars we were never disturbed when trying to sleep. Overall would recommend this hotel for people who are looking for a reasonably priced place to stay in the centre of town.

Nice hotel right in the city centre.

Location: Visit cardiff castle, stadium and music college. Bus station close and easy 7 mins ride to bay. During summer you can get a £5 family ticket. Useful
Good hotel. Staff were very friendly with great local knowledge of things to do and recommended some great restaurants. Room was good. Got a good nights sleep but there was dust on floor a couple of cobwebs. Overall though linen and bathroom very clean. Tried some of the 'homemade honey' delicious.

Pros: Good city centre location, the staff, the cleanliness-not much wrong really
Cons: Getting to the rooms on higher floors was a bit difficult, but I don't see how they could do much about this with the location of the lifts
Location: Mermaid Quay, Cardiff Bay, Cardiff Castle, Would also advise a a tour of the Millennium Stadium, which is also just a few feet from the hotel
Excellent value, high class hotel. Getting to the 5th floor was a bit awkward with 2 lifts and a few steps. Also, car parking was a bit difficult. They have an agreement with NCP car park in the city centre at Great Western Lane, which is about 500 yards from the hotel. If you've got a lot of luggage this might be difficult. You're better off just parking your car here and leaving it. The cost is £25 if you get the 1 week ticket and don't take your car out. The hotel bar was very reasonably priced, and the staff very helpful.

Good stay all around

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: The decore was good and the staff were very helpful.
Cons: There were some flies in the hotel room but other than this little thing nothing could have been better. The lifts could give a cause for concern.
Location: Nice day at the bay. The clubs are right outside but you can't even hear them unless you really listen. The shopping centre is also right outside :D.
This was a rather nice inexpensive hotel. Right on top of the city centre close to the bay it provided a lot to do. The staff were nice and the security for the hotel was good as you needed your room number to be able to enter the building. They were able to very quickly deal with the only problem that confronted me at my stay which was my fault and were generally very helpful.

Great Hotel. Friendly staff. Very modern and clean. Refreshing change from some of the other hotels. The only problem was it was hot and I don't think the AC was working, however they did provide a fan in the room.
