"Wonderful Resort"
The resort and staff were amazing. We arrived late from San Jose and the staff stayed late to assist us up the mountain. Additionally, they prepared a meal and had it waiting in our room upon our arrival. The house we stayed in and the grounds of the property were breathtaking. We will be returning to Samasati in the future.

"Pure Luxury in the Jungle"
This is one of the most wonderful places I have stayed, and I travel a lot. Beautiful in the lush jungle yet yards from the ocean; immaculately manicured tropical foliage; ultra large, white rooms. the staff is wonderful. They make sure your needs are over attended to. They bend over backwards to please. Gourmet restaurant, great breakfasts, eggs cooked to order. Last night they prepared a 4 course spiny Caribbean lobster gourmet meal, for all of $25. One of the most beautiful settings I have experienced. they even did our laundry after a day in the ocean at no charge. It is pricey but well worth it. If you want the absolute best in the Puerto Viejo area, this is it.

"Loved this hotel! Beach front and all!"
We loved our stay at the Cariblue. It lead right up to the beach, the room was lovely with a hammock on the porch, the pool area was absolutely AMAZING, and the entire staff was ready to help us with anything we needed. Most speak english, all are very willing to help when you try to speak spanish! Shout out to Oscar, the bar manager, on his willingness to go above and beyond for his guests. We noticed there were a lot of ants, but you are in Costa Rica when you're here! Overall, we absolutely loved this place and will likely stay here when we come back to the country!

"Great Place!!!"
After travelling in Nicaragua, it was such a pleasure to come to this place (again). This was my second time we stayed at Inti Resort. I can’t say enough about the staff...everyone was so genuine in trying to make sure everything was just right. The gardens are beautiful and the new restaurant amazing. , the food is great; the attention to detail by Gaby the main Chef at the restaurant was incredible. Room was immaculate clean. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking or a true tropical retreat, keeping the ecology of the planet seem the main concern of this hotel Now if you are looking for telephones on the room, room service and the luxury of the city you better keep looking. "Simply Amazing."
This hotel was truly amazing. It is hidden in the jungle which is exactly what we were looking for to get the "Costa Rican" feel. It is close to town and the beautiful beaches. Miriam is an angel and helped us set up our transportation to and from the airport and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay a memorable one. Dilan who also works at the hotel is one of a kind. He set up all our tours and excursions for us and introduced us to awesome people throughout the trip. He made sure we were always in good hands and watched out for us. They are two very special people and we will never forget them. The hotel is very clean and offers an AWESOME complimentary breakfast every morning. We didn't get to have it one morning because we were going canopying early and we were so sad that we had to miss it. However, Miriam and Dilan made sure to put fruit and coffee in our rooms for us. This was by far one of the best vacations I have ever been on and VIP Playa Negra is the hotel to stay at when visiting Puerto Viejo. Looking up flights back right now actually =)

"great 5* lodge"
A great way to experience white water rafting effortlessly. The first day we were picked up in San Jose on time by one of the guides, who provided local country information during the drive. We stopped at lunch at a restaurant in the countryside with a nice view. At the river another guide Evan provided perfect safety info without being too intimidating. Rafting the first day was very mild with a nice short hike up to a water falls and pond for swimming. We arrived at the lodge with a short description of the facility, hot outdoor shower, and walking guide by Evan to a beautiful falls. The bungalow was 5* but no electric which was perfect with candlelight and flashlights. River rapids, Howler monkeys and other sounds serenaded us to sleep and we awoke to the same. Rafting the second day was more exciting and rigorous but we were prepared by the first days experience. Absolutely beautiful river! Excellent lunch on the river. Evan was an excellent guide with great rafting skills and our team was fun so we had a great time. The price was higher than other hotels but well worth the experience because the service was excellent. The Expedia price did not include transportation and rafting that cost the two of us an additional $280.

"Perfect location for Eco tourists beach/rainforest"
For anyone looking for a combination of an isolated beach and rainforest reserve this is the place. Featuring some of the worlds friendliest staff who will treat you like family, who truly care about your experience. Prices are completely reasonable. The food is 5 star or better, surpassing anything we have ever ate in the world, from presentation to freshness and menu variety, always cooked to perfection. There are public beaches within walking distance, and local attractions and activitys to ensure you are never bored. We could not have asked for a better experience.

"Loved this hotel."
This hotel is simple but great! We fell asleep to frogs chirping and the rain falling. Room was very clean and has hardwood floors. Playa Chiquita is walking distance and we loved that. Restaurants are also nearby. We also took a five dollar cab ride to downtown and hung out there too! This hotel is serene, peaceful and quiet.

Caribbean Coast Resort & Spa Travel Guide

    When to Visit Roatan

Roatan is generally balmy all year long with high temperatures in the mid to high 80s. However, to avoid the wet season, have the best diving weather, and see the most marine wildlife, visit the area in the spring and early summer. February and March are the best months to enjoy mild weather, very little rain, and ample sun. Other popular times to book hotels in Roatan include the Christmas holiday season and during spring break when people are looking for a warm, lush place to get away from the cold weather farther north.

    Things to Do

Even though it is a fairly small island, Roatan is practically bursting with activities that the entire family can enjoy. Of course, the most popular activities are water sports, such as snorkeling, scuba diving, and deep-sea fishing. However, you can explore beautiful tropical forests in central Roatan with off-road vehicles or on a zip line, or you can take a moonlight stroll along the gorgeous white beaches. Coxen Hole, the capital of the island, offers great sightseeing tours, shopping, and local cuisine, and the West Bay area is loaded with beaches and diving opportunities. You can explore natural wonders by taking a diving class or snorkeling through the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second largest barrier reef in the world. Other fun attractions include the Blue Harbor Tropical Arboretum, Carambola Botanical Gardens, and Arch's Iguana and Marine Park in French Harbor.

    Amenities at Roatan Resorts

Roatan resorts offer an amazing array of amenities that will help you feel right at home as soon as you arrive on the island. No matter what your needs are, Expedia.com offers a huge array of hotel and resort options at fantastic prices. From concierge service to complimentary drinks, Roatan, Honduras, all-inclusive resorts have everything you need to fill your time and feel pampered without ever leaving the resort. Many of these resorts also have on-site fitness centers, tennis courts, basketball courts, and other sports facilities to help you stay in shape in between feasting on sumptuous international cuisine at on-site restaurants. If you prefer water sports to lounging under a beach umbrella, check out Roatan dive resorts, which offer on-site scuba diving.

Some Roatan island resorts are for adults only, making them a perfect choice if you are planning a romantic getaway with your significant other or looking for a quiet honeymoon location. Each resort offers at least one pool for freshwater swimming, and many have direct beach access complete with sun umbrellas and lounge chairs. Another amenity that will make it easy to relax is childcare, offered by several resorts for an additional fee.

    The Region Surrounding Roatan

Roatan is a long, narrow island with amazingly diverse geography. While you will first appreciate the miles of beaches along the famous West Bay end of the island, you'll discover that Roatan has beautiful tropical mangrove forests in its interior and stunning volcanic rock along its northern coast. If you decide to step outside your resort to explore, you can easily travel to mainland Honduras on the La Ceiba ferry. There, you can tour the Parque Nacional Pico Bonito or go whitewater rafting down the Rio Cangrejal.

Whether you are planning a family vacation or are looking for a special place to celebrate a relationship milestone, Roatan, Honduras, resorts offer the fabulous amenities you need while the island itself will give you the dose of sun, water, and nature that you crave. Book your flight to Roatan as well as your island resort through Expedia.com to score great deals on your next memorable yet cheap vacation.
