Adequate

Fairly close to Carlsbad Caverns, but the staff seemed to know little about the caves. The breakfast was quite limited, but the room was clean.

It's a bad

Posted Aug 18, 2014 on Hotels.com
We stayed overnight in the double queen. It was cramped; probably the smallest hotel room I've ever been in. The service was fine though and we had no troubles really. Fridge and microwave in each room and free wi-fi and continental breakfast. If you just need a place to stay close to Carlsbad Caverns and you're on a budget, this place will do.

Roads trip stop 1

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: close proximity to the caverns
Cons: I don't know where to start. It was dusty and dirty. Any locations in Carlsbad that had a decent appearance in the town was priced like downtown LA
Location: dirty movie theater with 3 movies. marginal food at several restuarants
It cost a bunch for what it was. Carlsbad is caverns only as the town had nothing to offer us. At least we got it off the bucket list

Unsatisfied

Posted Aug 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
The ONLY reason I chose this hotel after reading reviews was because it was cheaper than other hotels in Carlsbad (however, I still believe their price was extremely too high). Carlbad was the halfway point of our 10 hr drive, and we decided to see the caverns. That's why we spent the night in Carlsbad. There was 8 people in my group, so I had to book 2 rooms. When booking, I requested to have adjoining rooms, and if they weren't available, to have our rooms next to each other (as we had 6 kids to split amongst the rooms). When checking in, the clerk said they didn't have adjoining rooms and my rooms couldn't be changed. 1) the rooms weren't close to each other. 2) the clerk didn't even look at the computer to see if rooms could be switched to accommodate my request. When I went to my room, guess what I found inside? A door for an adjoining room. (Thought they didn't have those???) The bathroom had long black hairs on the floor. The toilet paper roll had about 3 squares of TP on it. The a/c was very loud. Oh, and the shower head...not only was it broken, but it made this terribly loud screaming sound as water went through it. The towels were dirty too...yellow spots on them. Upon checkout, after I handed my keys in, the clerk said I didn't need to sign anything. Then when I informed her of the broken shower head, she then said, "actually, I do need you to sign something." It was a paper saying that I'd be responsible for any additional charges. Oh, and the free continental breakfast. It's located in a room on the 2nd floor. Looks like the door just gets shut once breakfast hours are over. It had a near empty refrigerator with only a couple of yogurts, stale cereal in a dispenser, apples that looked like they needed to be in the trash, and a waffle maker. That was the free breakfast. Pathetic. Never again.

Word for us!!

Older hotel but updated furnishings, friendly staff, safe neighborhood, pretty ok breakfast. ..no meats but waffles were great! Drive to caverns was about 30 minutes... one of closest to the caverns! Hotel was pretty expensive but seems to be the norm for the area. Have to drive for restaurants but not too far. I would stay again for sure!!

Don't stay here. Old hotel rooms.

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Remodel the hotel. Clean the halls and rooms. New carpet.
Location: When to Carlsbad Caverns.
Older hotel. small rooms, a lot of construction workers. No breakfast, workers took everything by 6:45AM. Hotel in poor overall condition. Broken floor tiles and dirty carpet. Never again at Super 8.

Room barely adequate . Staff non existent.

Posted Aug 8, 2014
For what we paid $150. I'd give it two stars. If we paid half that, I would give it three. Musty rooms, but beds we're comfy & clean. Ice cold AC. Staff was non existent. Breakfast: barely enough food was left to feed the family- pretty chintzy pickings. Won't go back.
