Not clean

Posted May 4, 2015
Front desk was rude. Nothing was clean. Bathroom was dirty, I'm not against old building's but I do believe in cleaning. I have kids and I do not want them catching anything.

A Carlsbad Motel That Has Seen Better Days

Posted May 3, 2015
Pros: Check-in and check-out was easy and staff was fine.
Cons: Besides the repairs to the room, the motel could improve the security of their Wi-Fi. The security password was too easy allowing external access.
Location: Just south is one of the most famous cave systems in the world, Carlsbad Caverns National Park, my reason for stopping here.
Upon first appearance, the Continental Inn appears to be a decent motel and for a one-night stopover, it was satisfactory in comfort. However, I was surprised at the condition of the room - a Styrofoam repaired hole in the wall where the front door handle had been pushed against the wall, the wood in the bathroom door frame showing rot with no way to close the door. The walls were thin as I heard the couple next door argue throughout the night. The Internet Wi-Fi would fluctuate in strength and be spotty. At least for the room I was in, work needed to be done for improvement.

Budget hotel, what else?

Posted Oct 21, 2014
Pros: I like that it was next to Pat's Fun City. Was able to take the kids to the go carts.
Cons: Better breakfast, seating area, reduce price when swimming pool is down.
Location: Pat's Fun City, go carts, mini-golf.
This hotel was ok, at a minimum. Paid $120 total, for a possible $60 hotel. The pool was drained of water, so swimming was off limits. There "continental" breakfast? Coffee and store-bought Honey Buns. That's it.

Meh

Posted Sep 20, 2014
Pros: There were no current leaks in the ceiling.
Cons: Proper cleaning, customer service training for clerks.
Location: It was Carlsbad, so not a whole lot.
The room smelled. The staff wasn't nice, but they weren't rude either. The bathroom hadn't been properly cleaned. Lastly, they charged more at the time of charging my card than what was advertised on expedia.

Iffy hotel

Posted Aug 14, 2014
The receptionist was really rude and the carpet was filthy. My babies legs turned black from crawling on it. The beds were clean and fresh Nd comfortable.

Not bad for the price

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Location: It's located on the main avenue where everything is near.
It wasn't that bad for the price. It was clean & comfortable, it has microwave & fridge which was helpful for me. It's a good option if you want to stay overnight while traveling.

99 bucks doesn't buy what it used to?

Posted May 13, 2014
Pros: clean, and plenty of hot water
Cons: TV did not work. TV remote did not work. WiFi did not work and apparently has not worked in quite some time even though it is advertised on line .
Location: Carlsbad Caverns is something everyone should see. Guadalupe Mtn. National Park is a hiker's paradise
Carlsbad is now an oilfield town. hotel prices are high. for 99 bucks I got a clean room with hot water, a TV that did not work with a remote that did not work and WiFi that did not work, and apparently has not worked in quite some time, even though it is advertised on the sign out front.

Not spectacular but good for a nights sleep.

Posted May 4, 2014
The room was clean and smelled of perfume covering bleach. This place is being run by a family who has limited cash so don't expect frills or chairs that hold together but the beds was comfortable and the shower got the job done. Oh yeah you not get soap so bring shampoo.
