“only one night...”

First impression is ok, but in the evening... - 1 in dead cockroach in bathtub - very loud air-conditioning and no way to open the window, when I turned it off I still could hear neighbor's air conditioning (mid of July) - at 5 am trucks on hotel's parking started their engines and it lasted for an hour

“Shabby, but clean”

This entire hotel is in need of an update. It wasn't cheap, but it sure looked that way. Holes in the blankets, bathroom fixtures coming off the wall, paint peeling, furniture stained and heavily used. The AC worked great, and we had a non-smoking room. Unfortunately, the window-mounted AC unit sucked in the smoke from the room downstairs. There are plenty of other hotels in Carlsbad, NM. Avoid this one. The maids are keeping this place in business. If it hadn't been clean, I would have left.

“Stay Elsewhere”

Hotel is old and run down. To expensive for what you get. If you need maid service don't expect to get until evening and the people at the front desk are very rude. Rooms were not ready upon our arrival which was past check in time. When we did get our room the bed was broken. It was a mess. Find another place to stay or use as last resort!

“Not great choice”

Hotel was clean enough. Staff was rude, though. Unfortunately, not much choice--they're all about like that in carlsbad. Would pick another one next time, however.

“The pool was great!!!”

The tub had water stains all over it and there weren't enough towels.

“Not a place to spend much time”

The Ocotillo Inn provided a non-camping venue for my family to spend a night before heading to Carlsbad Caverns the following morning, but not much else. High points: check-in staff were polite and the (mediocre)breakfast was included in the price. Low points:It was one of the dirtiest hotels/motels I've ever stayed in - grimy tub, clammy bath towels, stained filthy room carpet. Even the laundry room for guest use was dirty. I'm glad I had a can of Lysol and a roll of paper towels with me, we needed them. In sum, the gorgeous Carlsbad Caverns National Park made up for the inconvenience of this place, but I will definitely seek different lodging if we go back to Carlsbad.

“Totally Disappointed”

The only plus I give to the Ocotillo Inn is that the people at the front desk were accommodating and friendly. i would rate this hotel with half a star. The swimming pool looked cleaner than the hotel rooms, ie. carpets dirty, bath tub grimy, could not use the coffee pot because it was filthy, there was rust on shower bar and vents, towels were dingy, and the beds were horrible and not conducive to having a quiet night's sleep. On last night, the wall rattled from what we were told by the air conditioner in the next room.

“Sleazy check-in practise.”

The room didnt even have soap. Had to get it from front desk. Both beds were pushed against window and the wall making it difficult for the second person to get up without waking up the next person. People were mulling around the front of the rooms, making it look like a ghetto. I will never go back there.

“stay somewhere else”

We stayed 4 nights and the 2nd night at 1 am had to call the front desk to ask the person next door to turn down his tv. the walls are paper thin. The 3rd night we didn`t even get our room cleaned. We were gone for 12 hours and got back, went to dinner came back 2 hours later and never got the room cleaned. They tried to unlock our door at 9 pm to clean it and we told them to go away. You should too, don`t go there
