I really enjoyed our stay here. Well first let’s start with this, Artesia NM does not really have much to do or see. Hence the 2 stars for area around the property. However, when it comes to the staff, they were very accommodating and we had no issues with them. Other than the hallway carpet which smells like wet dog (probably because of guests not controlling their pets), the room was clean and fresh. My only gripe was missing breakfast this morning. We got in during the weekend so we were told breakfast was 7-10am. We assumed it was every day but it turns out during the week it ends at 9am. Even though it was posted up, maybe please let guests know. We sometimes do not read. I did get a courtesy late checkout and Bonnie was kind enough to print over 50 pages of work for me because they don’t have an office area. I actually just booked another night with them since I missed my flight.

Wasn't warned or expected a deposit on the room. They did wave it for us. The beds were clean and comfy. The bathroom was nice. Overall a very comfortable stay for the price.

New buildings, everything looks neat and new. Very clean bath rooms, neat beds. I liked it the best among all the hotels I stayed so far. Breakfast is simple but its a quality food.

We booked and paid through hotels.com app. When we arrived they required an additional $100 deposit. They said if we paid cash, they would refund it upon checkout; if we put it on a card, there would be a delay for the credit to be issued. It’s a 2-story hotel with NO ELEVATOR. So, if you get booked on the 2nd floor, have fun hauling your luggage up the stairs. We booked a room for two and they supplied us with enough towels for one person. Of course, you’re welcome to run up and down the stairs to ask for more. Be sure to fill your ice bucket while you’re down there because there’s no ice machine on the 2nd floor. Also take note that the water in Artesia is VERY HARD. The tiny bottle hotel conditioner won’t help your hair, so bring your hair conditioner if you plan to use that water to wash your hair.

Deposit its a new to us for getting an incidental fee upon check-in And we are sorry about the hard water here in this town as well. I booked/paid for my room through Expedia. 1. Upon arrival, there was no one at the desk. I rang the bell. A few minutes passed and then someone from the dining area (friend, I assume) went to get someone. When the lady came out she didn’t greet me in any way, not even a “Hello”. I told her I had a reservation and handed her my id and cc. 2. She took them and said she’d be right back. She was gone 15 minutes . I had to ask her friend to go get her. 3. When the rep came back, she was incredibly rude and demanded the ID’s of everyone in the vehicle and said a $100 deposit was required to which I complied, but neither of these were mentioned on Expedia when I booked. 4. Over the course of completing the check-in, she proceded to tell me 6 different times that the rooms were nonsmoking and I wont get my deposit back if I smoke in the room. SIX warnings. I DON’T EVEN SMOKE and she was hatefully repeating herself as if she was getting paid a commission for each warning. 5. When I advised her that there were errors in my home and email addresses, she was snotty and told me she put in exactly what was on my ID. An extremely poor attitude and now being arguementative over HER typos in MY personal information. 6. This woman spoke to me in a condescending tone the entire time I was at the desk and then on exit, she yells to warn me about having the key next to my phone. The room was nice, but I guarantee your return customer count will go down if you keep this employee.

Can't Wait To Visit Artesia Again...
I really enjoyed my stay. I especially loved the decor, the paint color on the wall was incredible. I would really love to know the name of the paint so that I can update the wall color in my home. Bonnie was the staff member who checked me in, and she was amazing! Would I recommend this hotel to my friends, family, and coworker...You bet I would! Guaranteed 100%!

We booked this hotel for the pool, it was empty and not working - please advertise that for folks. Outside door keys didn’t work to get in.

We had no issues with staff. They were friendly. The only issue was with the smell in the hallways. It smelled like urine. The ac in the room was off. The room temperature read 87 degrees.

Card reader for the door was malfunctioning for one room and the second room you could just push the door open. The air conditioner ran all night and never cooled in one room.
