Outside Carlsbad Caverns.

Posted Nov 5, 2014
Pros: The staff was nice.
Cons: Breakfast. Not putting anyone near ice machines. Was pretty empty, didn't need to be there.
Location: Only the caverns.
Ice machine was outside the room. There was noise all night. Chain on door was broken. No place to eat nearby. After watching the bats, had to drive all the way back to town for dinner. (30 min.) Would recheck that. We were told there was a restaurant, but it closed at 7. Muffins and juice, coffee did not consider that a breakfast. There was a restaurant up at the caverns ate there.

Grungy...

Posted Oct 24, 2014
Pros: location close to Carlsbad caverns
Cons: cleanliness, facilities upkeep
Location: one thing: the magnificent Carlsbad Caverns. Worth driving across the country to see.
....but better than driving 25 miles to (city of) Carlsbad and spending 320 dollars a night there. Bugs. Dirty sheets. Generally kinda nasty. But it's really one of the very few places to spend the night close to Carlsbad Caverns. There's gas and gift shop/ snacks across the street. And it's right at the entrance to Carlsbad Caverns park. Despite it's general seediness, it was almost full (with Carlsbad caverns tourists and oilfield workers) the weeknight we stayed there. Seller's market.

Great location for Carlsbad Caverns

Posted Oct 24, 2014
Pros: Super clean and convenient to the caverns.
Cons: This isn't really about the hotel, but it would be nice if food were available after dark.
If you're going to the caverns this is as close to them as you're going to get, it appears to have been recently redecorated, it's clean and the people are friendly. If you're staying for the bat exodus after a day of touring be sure to eat before the show because the dining choices around here are all closed afterward and you'll have to drive back in to town anyway!

Very close to the park. Bring food if you have allergies/restrictions since the restaurant is limited. Wi-fi is ok for Kik but nothing faster. Great price, Ok for cleanliness. Walls are a bit thin but no traffic noise at night (no traffic out there).

7 mins drive to Carlsbad caverns national park.

Posted Sep 27, 2014
The closet hotel you can find to Carlsbad caverns national park. I love how quiet the town is. The down side is that they have only one restaurant in town. The restaurant close pretty early. Everything else is 20 miles away.

Nice configuration of room

Posted Sep 19, 2014
Pros: Very close to Carlsbad Caverns, lots of relevant information given at check-in.
Cons: Continental breakfast not the best I've ever had at a Rodeway Inn.
Location: 7 miles from Carlsbad Caverns, just outside the entrance to this National Park. You can even walk up, although there isn't a sidewalk.
Helpful staff, gave a lot of information at check-in; room was nice and good configuration - they gave me a ground floor room so that my mother wouldn't have to walk upstairs, which was very much appreciated. Wet room shower really needs non-slip mat or decals, as I was worried my mother might slip, but it did have a fold-down shower chair to mitigate this.

Best possible location for visiting Carlsbad

Posted Sep 12, 2014
Pros: Proximity to Carlsbad Caverns
After a long day at Carlsbad Cavern we were very happy to go back to our hotel in White City and not have to drive all the way back to the city of Carlsbad. Breakfast offerings were minimal.
