Close to Carlsbad CavernsPosted Aug 6, 2014
Pros: Proximity to Carlsbad Caverns. We were in the cavern and done before all the buses and group showed up.
Location: Carlsbad Caverns
We arrived at the hotel at 10:30 pm and was pleased our rooms had not been given away. We booked two rooms and the kids, and I, were thrilled they had adjoining doors. This is an older motel but is well maintained and very clean. We did not have the opportunity to use the pool facilities. Roy at the front desk was a pleasure to work with. Muffins and OJ in the office in the morning.

Water park made our trip that much more funPosted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Though the facility seemed a bit dated from the outside, the rooms had recently updated amenities such as TV, bathroom and shower fixtures.
Cons: The exterior of the facility needs some TLC. There were beer cans and trash abundant on the premises.
Location: Only one restaurant in town and a gas station-like convenience store. Pretty much, the water park is the big attraction.
The water park was really well kept and was good fun. Our 3-year old had a blast riding down the slides with us and I enjoyed them as well. Plus, since we were only about 10 minutes from the caverns, we had a jump on all the other tourists coming in from Carlsbad.

Great locationPosted Jul 28, 2014
Older hotel with large room, could up the star level if rooms were updated. Hotel has pool and small waterpark for kids. This is a hotel worth staying in for the cost. I recommend highly, staff was very helpful.

Enjoyable stayPosted Jul 26, 2014
Room was clean. Outside of hotel dirty. We enjoyed the visit & would use this motel again. Its location is the best part. 7 miles to the vistor center of the caverns. We were glad we had picnic supplies. Not much in the way of food at Whites City. The 1 restraunt is ok for a meal or two. Overall a very enojyable trip.

Close to the caverns.Posted Jul 23, 2014
Upon check in, the Inn clerk was impeccable. Courteous, kind, cheerful and knowledgeable are just some of the adjectives I would use to describe her. I did not ask her if I could use her name, (she) you will know who she is when you meet her. Other than that the hotel is ok. I wouldn't stay long a night or to is fine. The fact that the staff and the closeness to the caverns are what stand out. I would recommend this hotel.

Close to caverns but very uncomfortable.Posted Jul 22, 2014
The hotel staff was very kind and professional. The grounds were adequate and clean. The room, however, was dank and although surface clean, the floors were damp and there was a very large amount of dust on top of headboard and behind the tv. The biggest problem was the very worn and seemingly unclean sheets. They were discolored from use and we were honestly unsure as to whether or not they had been laundered. Luckily, I had brought along sleeping bags for my kids. The continental breakfast consisted of pre-packaged Otis Sounkmeyer muffins and coffee. If you have never visited Carlsbad Caverns, trust me, the 20 min trip from Carlsbad is worth it for a clean hotel. Don't let the proximity of this hotel to the park entice you....not worth it.
