Many of Duluth’s most interesting sights are near to Carlton, so it is a great place to base yourself while you are in town. Two of the most interesting places to see are the fascinating Spirit Mountain and the incredible Lake Superior Zoo. Also worth checking out are the Snowflake Nordic Ski Center and the Park Point Beach.
You’ll find plenty of interesting cultural attractions in and around Carlton. There are many excellent destinations visitors can pay a visit to for an afternoon such as the Lake Superior Railroad Museum, the Lake Superior Maritime Museum and the S.S. William A. Irvin Ore Boat Museum.
Plan a day of laughter with the entire family at the North Shore Scenic Railroad. Stop by the Great Lakes Aquarium, to experience some of the stars of the animal kingdom.
If the weather is good get into the great outdoors and make the most of the nearby parks and reserves. Join in a ball game, take a few photos, or just listen to the birdsong at Canal Park.
Go to the Miller Hill Mall to get in some retail therapy.
If you love sports, you might enjoy seeing local heroes, the Duluth Huskies, take to the field at Wade Stadium. On game days the stadium becomes a sea of navy blue and forest green, as baseball fans come together to cheer on their beloved team.
