Amazing place.Posted Nov 11, 2013
Cons: I can't think of anything.
Location: Whale watching - Monterey Bay, Vineyards, Highway 1 drive, hiking in Big Sur etc etc.
We stayed for 3 days whilst in California for a week. From the moment we pitched up the staff our experience was absolutely fantastic. Beautiful locatoin, amazing staff and facilitites, good food, great wine, good spa facilities. Yes it was expensive but I would say it was definitely worth it and would not hesitate to recommend to anybody else. Thanks!

Location: Wine tasting, shopping in Carmel and Monterey peninsula site seeing (Cannery Row)v
We were overwhelmed by the luxury and comfort and overall beauty of this lodge. Wish we could have stayed longer and long to return!

A Fantastic Retreat for Exploring CaliforniaPosted May 31, 2013
Pros: Beautiful view of the Wedding Garden.
Location: A quiet, peaceful, beautiful retreat.
Bernardus Lodge is a treasure tucked away in Carmel Valley. The accommodations are classic French countryside with opulent linens, soaps, lotions, and refreshments. The service is perfection in a quiet, calm escape far from the ordinary. It is an amazing get away that I plan to visit every opportunity that presents itself.

Romantic weekendPosted Feb 22, 2013
Pros: Wickets Bistro, Spa, general atmosphere
Cons: only one thing really, the light in the steam bathe is a really bright, cold, white- not cosy at all...
we had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Bernardus Lodge. I highly recommend the spa! I had one of the best massages of my life (I've had many...) Pricey but worth it!!! We had breakfast and dinner at the Lodge (Wickets)and the food and the ambience was excellent. Thank you so much Bernardus Lodge!!!

Great couples Get AwayPosted Oct 18, 2012
Location: Great location, not far from Carmel and Hwy 1. Just far enough inland so it was bright and sunny.
Our stay was wonderful. The staff was very courteous and helpful. There were many extras such as complimentary bottles of wine and delicious brownies in our room, The food at Wickets restaurant was great, I reommend the ravioli the best I've ever had. The warming pool is very relaxing and we loved the large outdoor fireplace on the patio of Wickets. I would highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to go back.

Goldilocks gets it just right.Posted Jun 1, 2012
Pros: grounds are beautifully planted and birds are singing
Cons: Marinus is closed Mondays and Tuesdays
Location: A beautiful ten-mile drive off the beaten track, so it's actually quiet at night.
Beds are not too soft, linens just right. Windows open for fresh air. The soaking tub is not too small and not too shallow. The fabulous restaurant, Marinus, is closed Monday and Tuesday, so our only disappointment was the food at Wickets. Travel any other days and the whole experience is wonderful.

Can't speak highly enough about the whole experience - service, food, wine and accommodation all simply outstanding. If you are visiting the Carmel area this place is a must.
