Hotel is terribly outdatedPosted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: Proximity to golf course, staff was excellent
Cons: Needs an update badly. The 5 fire doors I had to drag my luggage through to get to room made it cumbersome. No AC, musty and dingy
Location: Next to Carnoustie golf club
Stayed in the this hotel because of its proximity to Carnoustie golf club. The good: The staff was excellent and helpful, from the desk managers, to maintenance to the bar/restaurant staff. It is right next to the golf course. Walk of the 18th green and you are inside the bar. The bad: The hotel is musty, outdated and not comfortable. Getting luggage to your room was a nightmare (fire doors everywhere. I was shocked to find out the hotel is not very old. It is generally in poor condition.

close to beach but nothing to doPosted Apr 19, 2015
Cons: needs upgrading, the rooms are a bit tired. The walls were marked and there was long black hairs in the bath.
Location: the location is ok next to the beach but absolutely nothing to do in Carnoustie
went with my wife and two kids. There was nothing for kids to do at night for instance maybe play scrabble or a game of cards but they didnt have anything, there wasnt even a pool table to keep my son amused.

Another good stayPosted Feb 25, 2015 on Hotels.com
Good stay again, stayed here many times previously and always a comfortable stay. I would however say that the hotel is getting a bit tired in terms of room condition and really needs an upgrade, didn't spoil our stay in any way though. Breakfast was ok but it's clear that the coordination of the serving staff isn't great, kept getting asked same questions by different staff. Again the team more than make up for this in terms of helpfulness and friendliness.

A traditional hotel in a superb setting; it's very clean and tidy, maybe slightly old-fashioned to my tastes, but heartily recommended. The staff couldn't be anymore helpful, and the food is superb. Roll on my next visit.
