Nice hotel, location good and bad

Posted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: the hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms were amazing i loved it
Location: close to the beach, restaurants, cafes, seems a nice area
I loved the place, clean, big & nice rooms, but the once huge issue is that it is located right next to the freeway so, at first when we got there we didnt notice the noise of it (our room was facing the freeway) i thought i might be an issue but i didnt put that much attention. When we got back at night and try to sleep it was horrible. I tried to sleep with an arm on my ear, then pillows, etc. Then in the morning the room was next to their storage room, so all the maids came in early and while they start (i guess) getting ready to start working, up they were talking loud so that also woke me up. i would say, ask for the rooms facing the front and not the pool, maybe you dont hear the noise.

Good location to restaurants; accommodates 6

Posted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: I liked the location to the Santa Barbara Missions, cleanliness, nice staff.
Cons: For my family of 6, I would've like 2 bathrooms. But because we were just staying one night, we were able to make do.
It is difficult to find a room that will accept 6 people (2 adults and 4 school-aged children). This is one of the few hotels that does accommodate larger families. Although I thought I booked a room for 6, I was pleased when checking in when the front desk person noticed the handicapped room that I booked myself for was not big enough for my family. So she changed my room to one that would accommodate our large family. And with the large family comes big expenses for food. We were very thrilled with the complementary breakfast, which met the expectations of my finicky eaters. There were also fresh fruits for the adults in our family to enjoy something healthier in the morning. For dinner and lunch, we drove down about .5 mile to a strip mall with eateries: Subway, Uncle Chen, PeebeeJays, a yogurt place. It was a 20-minute drive to the Santa Barbara Missions.

Nice hotel, great price

We stayed for a couple of days and we loved the hotel: heated outdoor pool, nice and neat rooms, healthy complimentary breakfast, and small fitness center: we had all we needed! It is 15 to 20 minutes from Santa Barbara, which was not too bad as we had our car, and close to downtown Carpenteria, which is also nice and had a good mix ofr restaurants over there

Life in south western carpenteria

Noisy labor crews next door. Can hear through the walls. Went out for dinner. Town closes up at night except for Von's market cv pharmacy mc Donald's & arco gas. Commute to Santa barbara was 15 minutes in a.m. & 5 p.m. Traffic. Staff was nice. Room clean. I did request a room away from any freeway noise & got that. But noisy next door

Cons: The breakfast was terrible. The food was not hot, the milk was frozen. The bacon was artifical. We came down at 8am and you were out of muffins.
The breakfast was terrible. The food was not hot, the milk was frozen. The bacon was artifical. We were there at 8am and you were out of muffins. The pancakes tasted like plastic. You advertise a roll away bed, but when we get there you tell us that it cannot be put into the room due to a fire hazard.
