Not perfect, but I would stay againPosted Nov 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
We rented 5 rooms during National FFA Convention. I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel condition, décor, and breakfast based on the reasonable price. Breakfast was kept fully stocked despite the hotel being sold out. One desk attendant was very rude and didn't seem to belong in the hospitality industry, but all other staff and the General Manager were very pleasant and helpful. There were potato chips on our bedroom floor which were apparently not vacuumed prior to our arrival. The shower drain was plugged, so we had to stand in water during our showers. Otherwise, I was satisfied with the hotel cleanliness. Staff stated the hotel had no extra blankets or pillows, so those using sleeper sofas were cold. The rooms were otherwise comfortable. We were required to pay upon check-in for all 3 nights since we were paying by check even with my personal credit card as security, which seems to differ from industry practice. The hotel has no nationally recognized restaurants anywhere nearby, so eat at the hotel (evening meals offered) or some distance away. Vending machine drinks were $2 each, which seemed quite expensive considering the hotel's remote location. Wake-up calls were very unreliable and we never did figure out how to set the alarm clock. 1/2 our rooms did not receive requested wake-up calls, and my room received calls at 4:45 instead of 5:45am, and 3:30 instead of 5:15am. I would stay again, but I would prefer a hotel closer to Louisville (this was an hour away).

In the heart of tobacco countryPosted Sep 28, 2014
The lobby, hallways and room had an overwhelming odor of cigarette smoke. Interestingly, the tobacco festival was being held in town. Fitting.

Pros: Room was clean and up to date. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: Hotel lobby reeked with stale cigarette smell. More fresh fruit for the breakfast.
Lobby reeked with stale cigarette smell. We almost decided to leave thinking the room would smell the same. However, the room was fresh and clean. (Smelled fresh, not just perfumed over). Apparently they gutted the floor and did a refurb about a year ago. Would recommend with caveat about lobby smell.

All the comforts of home.Posted Jul 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
Very friendly and helpful staff, very nice place to visit. Clean and organized. Kid friendly and nice amenities. Affordable for what we were getting. This location has set precedence for future visits to any Hampton Inn we may encounter. We have decided that this is what we would like to see each time we visit one.
