“Very impressed with hotel and service - excellent!”
Highly recommend the margaritas !
“Great Experience!!!”
I love the hotel. It's close to everything in Lake Tahoe and the most important it is very affordable!! 100% recommended:)
“Good, but got me more excited to go to Vegas!”
This hotel was nice and convenient I would definitely go back. I was a little amused by it's small casino. It's definitely no match to Vegas, would've liked a little more liveliness. Overall, the view was beautiful and I had a great time for my boyfriend's birthday.
“Dimly lit rooms”
The rooms and hallways are dimly lit (perhaps to hide much needed maintenance) There are no complementary tea, coffee, or mini ref in the upgraded room. A minus for me. The hotel staff went out of their way to please which is why they get 4 stars.
“Honeymoon disappointment”
The hotel was nice but not a 4 star hotel. It was my honeymoon and upon checking in I informed them of that. We were placed right above the kitchen area so when we looked out of our window all we see is the top of the kitchen roof with vents and generators. The rooms were not equipped with a microwave nor a small refrigerator. There also wasn't a very good selection of restaurants either. We had to walk over to Harrah's Casino (their affiliate) to eat many times. When we checked out, I left a comment card and still haven't received an email or anything for that matter. We will stay somewhere else the next time.
“beautiful”
very special Hotel.
“Great Stay at South Shore.”
Very nice room with very comfortable bed. The amenities of the Casino with arcade, restaurants and clubs made it a great stay.
“Waaaaay Outdated Hotel”
If you like stepping back in time 20 years ago, then this hotel is for you. I was very disappointed in this hotel. We ordered a "luxury suite" which was anything but. The sad thing is, it's was the most updated suite of their rooms! I'd hate to see what the others look like. The only positive thing I can say about the hotel is it has a Starbucks in the lobby and the restaurant on the top of the hotel is very nice. Everyone was friendly, too. If you're looking for a place to gamble then this hotel might be for you, but if you want a nice room then don't go to this place -- it's sub-par at best. And don't be fooled by the "room with a view of the lake bit" either. NONE of their rooms have decent rooms with a view. I know -- we complained because we forked out extra $$$ for such a room (our room overlooked the parking lot and had a tiny sliver of a view of the lake if you looked really, really hard). The hotel manager was nice enough to allow us to check out other rooms with "views" but it was laughable. None of the rooms in the entire hotel had a decent view the lake (we went in the low season so we had our choice of rooms)! Shame on your Harvey's for marketing "rooms with lake-views"! Save your money and go elsewhere.
“Great Hotel”
We stayed at Harvey's on October 12 and 13, 2011. The employes are wonderful and friendly, starting with the valet parking, check-in, bell service and cleanliness of the room. We were in the Mountain Tower on the 9th floor. We did have a room that looked at the roof top, but who cares? We were there to have fun and see the sights, not stay in the room. We could also see a large part of the lake. The casino and restaurants were great. We ate breakfast at the American River Cafe in Harrahs. A little pricey, but the food is excellent. The Hard Rock Cafe in Harveys is another choice for dinner. Great food! We would not hesitate to stay at Harveys, as we have done for the last 30 years!
“Bachlorette Party”
Very helpful with all of our needs.
