Pleasant stay near Lake TahoePosted Sep 7, 2013
Pros: Easy to find, low key, continental breakfast, easy parking
Location: Nothing to do in Minden but Lake Tahoe isn't far
The staff was nice and the stay was pleasant. There's nothing to do in Minden so it's a good place to stay if you're doing stuff in Lake Tahoe. The pool was freezing but we jumped in anyway. The room key was weird but that didn't really matter. Overall a good stay. No complaints!

Just about perfectPosted Aug 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
This was a last-minute booking, as I headed down hwy 395. I've never stayed in Minden before... always passing through. This hotel is just off the highway, kind of in a little shopping mall, behind a row of shops, and next to a multiplex theatre. Due to it's location, it was very, very quiet. I had the window open all night, and never heard a thing. For some reason, I was given a handicap accessible room, and loved the spacious bathroom and space by the desk. I had a very comfortable night, and hit the road in the morning well rested and refreshed. Exactly what you want from a hotel stay!

Hotel is next to a sewer plant...stinks all the time!! You can hear everything, when someone takes a shower it might as well be in your room...very cheap, walls so thin but most of all stinks!!

Basic Comfortable Accomodations - Great PricePosted Aug 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
The building couldn't be more basic and uninviting, but the room was large, clean, and comfortable. We chose this based on price and location (for a nearby swim meet). At $110/nite it was the best price around, and served it's purpose. A free breakfast is included, making it a good value. Location is good, close to 395, but quiet, and next to a shopping center with a movie theater and Starbucks, both of which came in handy. Also, a very nice park next door, which served us well for walking our dogs.

The highlight was Starbucks a 5 min. walk away.Posted Aug 5, 2013
Pros: The jury is still out on this one...
Cons: Cleanliness goes a long way.
Location: Minden, NV is a small town so just about everything is close for food and shopping.
Old mattresses, room furniture & mini-fridges stacked in breezeway to room, was not a great first impression. Pubes on the bathroom floor was pretty gross along with the old bar of soap atop the bathtub wall that had obviously been there for quite some time. The continental breakfast wrapped up early both mornings, way before 10am, even though there was a package of danish behind the counter at the register, concluding it was for the staff only, which was fine seeing as there weren't any coffee cups to be had, either. We're not motel snobs, but we won't be back...

Not as good as the reviews made it out to be.Posted Jul 30, 2013
Pros: The receptionist who checked us in on the first day.
Cons: Just about everything.
Location: The historic town of Genoa is close by, and Minden has an interesting museum in what used to be the middle school. Lake Tahoe is only a short drive.
Checkin was pleasant. The lovely lady even walked us to our room to explain how the a/c worked, only to discover that our room had been upgraded to a newer model that was self-explanatory. Later that evening we discovered that we didn't have a remote control for the huge and very clunky old-style tube TV. At breakfast the next morning I found that the waffle maker over cooked the waffles, and there wasn't anything to top the cereal - no bananas, raisins, nuts, anything. Corn Flakes and milk alone don't go down very easily. They were out of individual jellies for the toast, and the squeezable bottles I was handed were sticky. After breakfast I asked the receptionist for a TV remote, which she handed to me with the statement, "This may not work. If so, let me know and I'll come to your room and program it." It didn't work so I called her and she told me she would take care of it. When we got back to our room I tried the remote - it still didn't work. On that second night the room above ours was occupied and their bathtub creaked annoyingly all the time one of the occupants was showering, both in the late evening (around 10 pm) and the following morning. Every step they took across the room could be clearly heard. Our bed was not properly made up after the first night. The concierge simply threw the covers over the bed, replaced the towels, emptied the trash can and left.
