“Would stay there in a heartbeat”
This hotel has character, charm, convenience to the old city of Cartagena, restaurants, clubs, historic sites, shopping. Small and intimate, very friendly service, English speaking staff, excellent breakfast. We felt well cared for and safe. Even free wi-fi in the hotel.
“Charming hotel”
We loved staying at the Alfiz Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had a great shower. It is in walking distance of historical sites and great restraurants. All in all we had a great experience and would stay there again.

The Alfiz is very nice hotel with a lot of character. It is literally two blocks from the Puerta de Reloj and one block from the plaza with the salsa bar named "La Salsa de Fidel'. A previous reviewer commented that the beds were hard; I thought that they were very nice. The pool is more of a hot tub; I did not use it but it appeared clean and nice. The included breakfast was excellent. The front door is not marked with any sort of sign; it is easy to miss the actual hotel. I did have trouble with the WiFi inside the room; it was easy to pick up in the lobby.
“Great Hotel and Great Price”
We loved our visit to the Alfiz. Our room was lovely with AC, service was top notch and everything was so clean. Our only complaint is that the bed was way to hard. I think they could go with some better mattresses. I have seen this complaint online several times. After 5 nights it started to get to us. Also, there was construction goin on next door that woke us up several times and created a dust in our room. Alfiz could not control it but it was a bit aggrevating. We would stay there again for a short trip. Thank you Alfiz for your hospitality!
