“An amazing stay in Cartagena, Colombia.”
This hotel is impressive for its location close to the restaurants and nightlife. This is the Spanish architecture that I wanted to live in. The ambience was great. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and great air-conditioning. The hotel is built in the form of three floors (stairs only) of rooms around a small courtyard that has a small pool. The view from the two foot balcony, if the room has one, is of the street only.
Service is excellent. The front desk (especially day time) speak good English and are very helpful and friendly. Both of them made my stay a wonderful experience. The cooks were amazing and very courteous, breakfast was delicious and was served personally at a very nice dining room where I sat around a large wood table in the morning and had the chance to meet other people from all over the world and listen to their experiences.
If you met someone and he or she decided to stay overnight, the front desk (male presence only at night) charges a lot. I am pretty sure all the other hotels or night staff does the same to benefit themselves from the situation.
There are several things on the bill such as room charges, CO pesos per person per night extra charge, taxes, tips charged in advance which is the same all over the place.
I would go back and definitely stay at this hotel.
