The staff was excellent. They were pleasant and really great. The area is right across from the Hollywood beach and it's safe. Tourist police were always present.

Not really a 5 star hotel. Area around the hotel could use more security. More police. Don’t bother going to the beach- you’ll be swarmed by every local there trying to make a quick buck. I say to everyone order Ubers not yellow cabs. And have them pull right into the hotels front lobby. The food is pretty mid. Friendly staff at least. Attentive. Don’t think I’ll stay here again.

I requested the upgrade! They said they didn’t have a better room. Then the room i was getting was connected to another and I didn’t want. Then, i was offered another room better but I was supposed to pay extra. And I reminded them I have the right to an upgrade. The lady left to talk to someone and finally came and told me I was getting the upgraded because they checked my status with Expedia. The room was bigger but I requested an iron and ironing board and they didn’t have one. I got the iron. The breakfast was terrible food.

Pool deck was nice. Pool wasn’t properly sanitized after someone threw up in pool and no one in pool was asked to get out. Staff were very pleasant. Dj at pool was ridiculously loud.

The hotel looks nice from the outside but our room had mold in it and blood like stains in different spots. The shower head is not rain fall like, water coming out of a water bottle is faster. Everytime you come out of the hotel there’s people bugging you about tours and attractions. Other than that, staff was very nice and friendly.

close to beach coffee available for early risers - rooms in poor repair - very noisy because of open plan, music and noise from elevators, etc. - in Bocagrande you must get used to very persistent vendors and street people - this hotel should not be rated five stars. It is not even close.

By far the worst experience at any hotel I have stayed at. If there was an option for a zero star I would select it without hesitation. The front desk staff are rude, do not care about their customers and fail miserably at making an effort to turn a negative experience into a positive one. Thank you Kevin and Eric for making a mockery of our hotel check-in experience on Nov. 27. Almirante Cartagena has failed to deliver proper customer service to their client. Front desk staff made us waited over an hour to sort out our room check in while making a mockery of the situation. While waiting, the staff did not make an attempt to offer us a glass of water or coffee while waiting. After further escalation, a room became available, the worst room and poorest condition. No one would have wanted to take their shoe off and lay on the beds in the room that was provided. There was dirt on the furniture, hair on the bedding, blood stains on the floor, a complete disappointment to anyone starting their vacation. We managed to get a room by 9 A.M. and were told by the front desk staff, though they knew we traveled all night, that we cannot have breakfast as our reservation doesn't take effect until the following day. I would not wish this experience on my worst enemy.

Overall, this is a well maintained older 5-star hotel. There are many onsite services that you can indulge here without stepping off the property. I really enjoyed the pool area that overlooked the beach and didn't have to put up with the constant hawkers that try to sell you something while on the sand. The hotel's gym and fitness areas are also pretty good for a hotel's gym. The lobby and main floor/entrance areas are quite opulent and during my time there the staff were setting up a nice Christmas decor. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. My only criticism, which didn't really affect my stay, is that the rooms, while clean and well maintained are a little bit out of date as far as style and could use a refresh. I would stay here again If I was in the BocaGrande area of Cartegena. It is a good value for the price considering all the amenities and level of service that can be had there.

I loved this Hotel. The beach is across the street, the pool is great, with food service everyday. The saunas were amazing. You also have restaurants in front of the Hotel, with huge grocery stores a block away. You have a mini tourist mart that offers great buys. And I loved that you can exchange your dollars to Colombian pesos everyday that I was there. Excellent stay!!!

This is by far the worst hotel and customer service ever. They don’t respect the status of VIP gold and they also try to scam me. Management could care less … as long as I had paid. Do not recommend to anyone .
