Great time, great experience!!!

Posted Jun 17, 2015
Pros: Location and Facilities
Cons: The restaurants... the food was ok, nothing remarkable, and a little over price for the quality. restaurants around offer a better choice.
Location: Beach across the street, restaurants, casinos, movie theater, folkloric rides in the Chivas, shopping.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful, its architecture dates from the 40s and they have done a wonderful job to preserve it. the internal gardens are relaxing and magical, where you can experience wild life such as baby deer, sloth, toucans, falcons and variety of colorful birds. The rooms have been brought up to current modern looks, with very comfy beds and ample space, where you can relax and have a good night sleep. You will not hear any noise from the street, or other rooms due to the sturdy construction of the building. The location was perfect, across the street of bocagrande beach, where the hotel has complementary umbrellas and chairs at your disposition, full service restaurant for drinks and snacks brought to you by the hotel personnel that are extremely amicable. They will tell you not to buy from street vendors that roam around the beach all day long... we didn't buy art crafts, but we got massages from the ladies at the beach, they were so much fun and extremely good misuses, with them you can experience the local flavor of Cartagena, for $15-$20 they will do a complete body massage and tell you fun stories for you to have a good laugh... granted that you have to understand spanish to enjoy that part, still if you dont you will be very happy with the front beach massage :) You are only 5-10 mins away from the city center (walled city) and the taxis or buses will take you there for $2-$4 per ride. We couldn't be happier with the hotel, looking forward to go back

A lot going for Hotel Caribe

Posted Jun 14, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff, good facilities.
Cons: Service a little slow at the pool. New block of hotel needs refurb.
Location: Fabulous - short taxi ride to old city!
Great staff, lovely old and refurbished original block but tired 'new' block! They had to move me into the old block after 2 days because of leaks in the bathroom ceiling!

Great Hotel

Posted May 11, 2015
Pros: The layout, friendliness of staff. Service was slow at times but I expected that due to the culture. Very safe and secure grounds. Olympic size pool
Cons: Waiters to come back around a little more often.
The check in was little slow but they were very polite. We arrived on my birthday and a cake was sent to the room and I thought that was very nice of management. The hotel was very clean and pool and grounds were awesome. A Toucan sat and watched us eat breakfast each morning. Lots of restaurants and shops in walking distance and of course beach right in front of hotel across the street. The hotel is very secure and we felt very safe. Cartagena is a beautiful city. We took a city tour - Rafael did a great job. Took tour to Rosario Islands and spent day on Encanto Beach and Hotel area. Definitely worth the trip. Takes an hour but well worth the time. I definitely would like to visit again and stay at Hotel Caribe.

動物園のようなホテル

中庭には鹿やナマケモノ、カラフルな鳥が放飼いになっている。 コロニアル風の由緒正しいホテル。 プールは深いところで3m以上ありダイブしても安全。 海岸に近くとっても良い。

Great Hotel

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: Its location.
This has been the second time I stay at Hotel Caribe in Cartagena. It is a very good located hotel at Boca Grande region, plenty of attractions near by, and the beach is just a few steps in front of the hotel. They even have a restaurant on the beach, with a pleasant view. I truly recommend this hotel, and in the future, I would stay on it once again.
