You get what you pay for, star rating needs review

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Room cleanliness
Cons: Everything
Location: Beach right in front
Hotel right in front of the beach in the Bocagrande Area. The entire property is in need of an urgent renovation, facilities are in poor condition and are quite unpleasant. Had to wait for about an hour (seriously) for check-in and check-out. My room and bathroom was OK though, clean enough for my taste. Budget hotels in Cartagena tend to be this way I guess, not much to expect for about 110 USD per night (taxes included). If you can afford to pay the extra money to stay someplace better, don't hesitate.

Great hotel

Beach front property. Amazing views from the room. Pool on the 18th floor, very clean, spent 10 days there. Enjoyed the huge buffet breakfast in the morning. Staff is friendly and accommodating, 24 hours reception and security. I will definitely rebook at this hotel.

Hotel close to the beach

Posted Jun 1, 2014
Some kids were playing very loud music on the lobby's computers and no body seemed to care about it. The hotel is certain an old one. I paid about $100 dollars per night and in the US you can get a hotel room for $80 dollar per night with better facilities. What was nice about this hotel was that it is close to the beach and they have umbrellas by the beach you can use.

not bad for the price

Posted May 11, 2014
Cons: Front Desk staff need to be able to check in ppl with Expedia Itinerary #. it was a bit difficult to get checked in even with a printed receipt
i got a $90+ room. the staff was cortous but it seemed like there is some kind of miscommunication between their expedia.com partners and the Front Desk. they couldn't check me in without a passport and i offered them my driver's license as a form of identification and they wouldn't take it. finally they called somebody and let me check in with my Driver's License. the room was nice and clean and the ammenities were good too. check out was pretty quick. however they didn't provide a receipt at the check out wihich i found unusual... overall a good stay for a night or 2.

Nice hotel near the beach

Posted Apr 10, 2014
Pros: Food, pool and beach and the best the location in Boca Grande
Cons: Keeping the noise in the low range with the cleaning crew
Location: Nice restaurants for a lot of different typical meals, easy to take a taxi or bus to the Colonial city, movies or a simple shopping day
Difficult checkin and checkout due to the hotel's system. You have to have some extra time for checkout. Very friendly personnel and willing to help. The breakfast is with a lot of typical food, a great amount of fruits and juices. The services for the pool and the beach very good. I found a little noise for my taste. In general was a good hotel for me.

This hotel need a total make over, the room assigned flooded in the first night from a leaky pipe from the upper floor. Staff are helpful and courteous. The entrance of the hotel is a parking lot as all the streets in the malecon ( if you walk don't get run over by a motor bike, bus, car, or a taxi), street are dirty.... Beware of all the vendor and masseurs in the beach across from the hotel, they get upset if you don't buy or accept their offers... What a nuisance!!! Ha! If they see you are are a tourist, they will rob you with a price of a margarita of 80.000 Colombian pesos... Back to Cartagena? Certainly not!!!!

Good about dinning and housekeeping, poor at front desk, not much of courtesy and kind of indifferent.

Convenient location

Posted Feb 25, 2014 on Hotels.com
The location of the hotel is ideal, not far from historic area, airport, bars, banks, restaurants, etc. but I feels it needs some maintenance. The toilet flooded and water went all the way to the hallway. The pool area needs a make over and make sure your reservation is done per/person otherwise they will try to rip you off for additional guests.
