Excellent hotel. Very friendly staffPosted Nov 11, 2010
Fabulous time in Cartagena. The only problem I had was leaving. Avianca airlines is horrible. A flight cancellation created a 14 hr layover. There was no explanation of why the flight was delayed until 3 hours into my ordeal. The airport procedures with dealing with flight cancellations was poor at best. I would love to go back during the summer. If I do go back I will ensure that I do not fly Avianca airlines. Handwritten vouchers and lack of planning left a sour taste in my mouth after a great time.

Worth it for the decor alonePosted Oct 15, 2010
My boyfriend and I (both 27 y/o) recently stayed at this hotel for a few days. The hotel decor is great and comparable to boutique hotels in NYC. The website photos don't do it justice. It was a nice place to come home to after our daily excursions. We spent a few days in San Diego, the nicer neighborhood in Cartagena with tons of nice hotels and nice restaurants. Getseani is notably different. A little rough around the edges with more hostels than hotels, and more locals than tourists. With that being said, I felt comfortable the entire time in that area. Casa Lola is about 15 minutes walking from the walled city and the port. The best dance clubs and live music are conveniently in Getsemani, though. Back to the hotel, I found the service OK- no complaints, and they served a nice daily breakfast. Overall, it was a nice boutique hotel that I would recommend to others.

Nice hotelPosted Oct 1, 2010
The hotel location was good, you can walk to the colonial area in 5 minutes. The hotel staffs were very kind and they helped me to reserve the city tour. The hotel neighbor was a little bit loud becauseI stayed on Saturday. On Sunday night there was no problem. The arquitecture of the hotel was pretty but the art was not.

Oasis in CartagenaPosted Jul 28, 2010
Very comfortable and luxurious hotel in the Getsemani neighborhood. Staff spoke English and were very helpful in all matters. Would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting for a few days and wanting a first class experience!

ok, but overpriced and not satisfactoryPosted Jun 16, 2010
hotel ok, but expensive for what it is. Was there only 1 night. Service, reception etc. very good. Room ok but (for me at least) not up to the price. The wall behind my bed was leaking little pieces of bricks (old colonial wall) so I kept getting these on top of me during the night. In the morning I told to reception and they said they knew the problem... that was it... I am not sure if I would stay there again. In general is ok but definitely very very overpriced, and a little away from the walled city, at night not sure if safe to walk in the hotel area.
