“Could have stayed forever here!”

After traveling for a month and staying in hostels, this hotel was like walking into heaven. The location was fantastic. Right in front of the entrance to the walled historical city. My room was pristine, white sheets and duvet, tv, clean bathroom. Staff were extremely helpful, particularly as i had arrived before check-in. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The roof top views of the city were breathtaking! Only thing to mention to be wary of is the laundry service which is expensive, costing me about $80 US for 20 items of clothing! Very well cleaned clothing I might add! Excellent hotel.

“Clasic Hotel beside Olde Town Cartagena”

The Monterray Hotel was a clean and comfortable hotal. It was close to many tourist sites, and boat tours.

The location is exceptional, the attention is excellent. The place just needs a swimming pool to cool down at midday, when it's extremely hot. Staff attention is, in general, very friendly and professional, especially from the people who serve breakfast and work at the resturant. We hope to go back to Cartagena, a wonderful city full of charm. And, without any doubt, we'd stay at the hotel if it already has a pool!

“Overall nice hotel.”

Nice bed and breakfast, great location in Getsemani, in front of the old city. Hotel suffers from humidity , but it is very common of hotels in this old city due to climate and the fact that the constructions are so old. Realty friendly staff, decent breakfast. Overall a nice hotel if you want to stay in an old hotel with some history.

“Fair hotel - great location”

A very mixed bag. Location couldn't be better, and the rooftop view spectacular. The rooms had a bizarre mix of modern and expensive. For example, there was a brand-new flatscreen TV and new marble counter-tops but mixed with old and dilapidated elements (broken light fixtures, closet shelves that hadn't been dusted in months). The A/C unit tried hard, but could barely keep up during the "cool" season - ok for me, but may not be for others. The staff was friendly and helpful, but spoke little English. Restaurant hours were inconsistent, but they'd get you a cold drink at all hours. If you're looking for a fine. luxury hotel, this isn't it, but it's very convenient and well enough apportioned to accommodate non-picky travelers, and the price was much better than hotels within the old city.
