“Great location”

Great location and excellent service. For the price per night, I am not complaint. The front desk always try to help you and answer the question very well, also ,very important , they protect you when you asking for things to do in Cartagena, telling the best and safe places to visit. Room was very clean. The Housekeeping did the service every day .

“GREAT STAY HERE IF ON A BUDGET! WOULD DO IT AGAIN”

This hotel is excellent if you are on a budget. Its location is close to everything. We stayed on the ninth floor and had an incredible view of the OCEAN. The room was neat and clean but be prepared for the Basics. No hot water, phone service, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer. In Cartagena you do not need hot water, a refreshing tap water shower is just fine. The a/c unit in our room was awesome, which is what you want. They did have a nice size room refrigerator and the TV had satelite. Our room package did include a breakfast buffet. Some hot items like Eggs, Arepas, cheese, meat, cereal, bread, juice and coffee. Nothing fancy but a perfect way to start everyday and good value. Keep your windows closed at all times. They have a few Mosquitoes. Colombians celebrate with extremely loud music. Street music can be heard all the way to the top of the hotel, its the culture, keep some ear plugs with you if this bothers you. We brought a nice hot plate and had our own coffee and a couple of meals in our room. Plenty of restaurants right outside the hotel eveywhere. Here's a final tip.. Go on a day trip to rosario island but don't go on that big boat to cocoliso. As soon as the boat makes it to the open ocean your gonna get sea sick. Many adults and children were holding plastic bags. This is a round trip nightmare. Go on the smaller faster boats its better. Always keep your valuables locked up at all times. Either in the room safe or your in your suitcase. Had a great time!

“Great Hotel for a business trip”

“too noisy and impersonal”

It's an old, tall building with small, old elevators and old and noisy air conditioners. It was surrounded by construction sights and busy bus stops. The hotel itself feels very impersonal and there's no welcoming or authentic atmosphere to it. We almost felt like prisoners as there are no balconies or outdoor areas. It was clean, though and the breakfast buffet had a good enough selection of food.

“Extremely adequate”

This hotel is a great place to stay if you do not plan on spending lots of time in your room except when sleeping. It is close to the old city and many great restaurants. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. However, do not expect much from your room; the furniture and linen are very worn and the beds are almost uncomfortable. There are also a few bars nearby that get loud on weekend nights and could easily be heard on the 7th floor. Otherwise, for the price, location, and free breakfast, this hotel is great.

“A no thrills good-value hotel.”

The hotel is located just outside the old city, and is convenient for both business travellers and tourists. The hotel itself is a tall and unmemorable building block that has seen better days. The rooms are clean and pleasant enough. Outside the window you will see sleeping homeless people and greasy street food sellers. While seedy, the immediate surroundings are not dangerous and the nicer neighbourhood inside the walled city is just across the street.

“If you need just a place to sleep - go elsewhere.”

In fairness, we arrived at the Hotel Stil at about 11pm after having been delayed in Bogota for about four hours, so we probably weren't in the best of moods. We had booked the Stil before arriving in Colombia and decided that we wanted to spend a little extra (about $55*) for a nice place so that our first night in the country would be comfortable. *I know that's not a lot of money for a night of accommodations, but many hostels outside the old wall are less than that. When we arrived, it was immediate that very little care is taken into maintaining the hotel. It looked and felt old and shabby and unloved. The elevator is tiny, tiny. The room was bare except for a bed, mini fridge and fan. Nothing about the room felt comfortable. There was no hot water. Nothing seemed clean - not the sheets, not the floor, nothing. And in the morning our "view" was obstructed by guys doing construction outside our window on the 10th floor. There was a black curtain up on their lift but due to the angle, they could see into our room which also felt terrible. Sure if you need just a place to lay your head, then yes they do provide that. But really, there are many, many places I would go first if I had the opportunity to do this over.
