“Nice Hotel”

Hotel is very nice. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Did not find that the staff spoke English very well but good enough.

“Very beautiful and upscale hotel I wish I had more time to stay there”

My last night before leaving Colombia I stayed at Las Americas. It's the nicest hotel I've stayed in yet and I've stayed in many in Cartagena (Hilton, Caribe, etc.) My mistake was only staying one night as I could see there are many amenities to take advantage of on this property. Also, the hotel is ON the beach. No need to cross the street. Just walk out of the hotel and you're there. Very comfortable sun shelters and chairs for hotel guests on the beach. Breakfast included is always appreciated and they serve the best buffet I've seen yet for hotels. The balconies have hammocks and the rooms are very comfortable. A perfect setting for any situation. I noticed many things for children to do here, but this hotel is also perfect for a romantic getaway for a couple. It's also not far from the airport and they have a free shuttle that goes to various places. Very good service and security!!

“Much better than expected”

Setting was very relaxing and the staff throughout the hotel was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Very good, convenient business center.

“Very good Hotel”

It is one of the best hotesl in Cartagena. It is close to everything and far from the noise and traffic.

“A great place to relax by the beach or by the pool!”

I had a lovely time at this resort and the food was excellent! Great selection of many varieties from different cultures....and the fruits were really fresh and plentifull! There is nothing bad that I can say about this resort and I do reccomended to anyone that wants to be at the beach and relax. The hotel offers a bus service to the historical area which I used every day for site seeing! Great value! Cartagena is beautifull and misterious and , YES I would love to come back in the very near future!

“Nice Hotel but a Bit Far from the OLD CITY”

I didn't like the fact that they charge an additional $50USD for a person to stay in your room for a couple hours at night and it is only until 5am. After 5am they will charge you for an additional person to stay in your room as another adult. This means it makes it a challenge to bring friend(s) to your room without having to argue your point. The hotel is very close to the airport but far from the OLD CITY where all the action is. It is a 10,000-15,000 COP ($6-$8USD) one way ride to the OLD CITY. It has a great pool, beach, and play area for kids. The hotel is gated with security guards posted at entry/exit points. I would stay here again if I came with family. If you come on business it would be better to stay in the OLD CITY even though it is more expensive but good deals can be found.

“Superb hotel, nice service!”

All workers had a sincere smile and were very helpful. I traveled with my dad who used a wheelchair and the hotel staff will come out of nowhere to help me. Nice clean rooms, calm beach, great breakfast buffet (lots of fresh fruit). The omelette lady (I believe her name is Luz Marina) was great and she knew she had good reviews on the internet. My only suggestion for the hotel is to offer some regional fruit juices like nispero, tamarindo or zapote. We had a great experience and will come back for sure!

“Overall a good hotel”

We were not impressed with the wait staff in the hotel restaurant at all. The service was slow and the staff sometimes rude. This could be due to the tip being an automatic addition to the bill. The overall condition and cleanness of the hotel is excellent. The front desk staff and concierges were nice and helpful. The hotel does have a shuttle to go into town which was nice.

“Ideal locatión for an hotel with beach and swimming pool”

Located very close to the airport (15 min) and 25 to 30 min to downtown of Cartagena wich is the nicest place to visit. There are taxi at hotel and at the historic city is easy to get a taxi for the hotel (5 to 6 USD) The hotel has a van that takes you to the city every two hours moreless. Also you can book may tours at the hotel. There ar theree restorants with differente types of meals, but you always found good fishes and sea food. Be careful in choice a room not so close to the children zone. It could a little noisy.

“You can get used to it! very easily!!”

First of all, Cartagena it's beautiful (even beyond pictures) so it doesn't exist such place as an ugly one. The hotel Las Americas was really good, people were polite, they have a good breakfast menu! Comfortable beds, nice hot water, nice view, the convention center it's nice and big. It's true, you can't walk to the Historic Center just like that, but they have a bus to transport you there every half hour for free! No complains.. well.. maybe just one! I wished they had a more... colombian menu, that would complete the whole traveling experience!
