"Nice friendly place"
A nice friendly place located close to the historic center as well as next to the major plaza in Getsemani. The owner is really sweet and helpful and the staff is eager to please. The house is a bit old and overall the setup is not so professional but that might be part of its charm

"Very nice common spaces including rooftop pool "
I have been to Cartagena for business on several occasions. This time I came with my husband who is a book lover and pirate buff. This is the first time that I can say I got to see Cartagena. He was enchanted with the beauty of the streets, the riot of flowering vines, including the treasures in the Library at the Spanish Agency AECID (in the Santo Domingo Complex) many colonial buildings and also the street scene. The quality of the food in higher end restaurants is very good. The location of Coliseo was very convenient to our walks.

"Amazing B&B with wonderful staff "
Even before we arrived Laura made us comfortable by ensuring that the rooms we reserved are exactly as we requested. Once we arrived the hotel grounds spoke for themselves. Chic, classy, elegant, inviting are just a few of the many characteristics of this wonderful place. More importantly as with anything the people make the experience and this was no different. From every question to every request the staff was IMPECCABLE!!! Truly giving me and my group the family feeling. I am so happy we chose this place and will certainly come here again!

"Great Boutique Hotel "
Friendly staff (Marjorie was amazeballs!) great service. The complimentary foot/hand massage was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is attractively updated with some modern touches while maintaining the colonial charm of the original structure. The breakfast was top notch with a great assortment of fresh fruit, fresh juice, and local foods (arepas and cheese). We stayed for 5 nights and could have easily stayed longer. The location was great as well. It is located on one edge of the old walled city center which provides easy access to the rest of the city if you are so inclined, but the old city center is so small, the longest walk to the other end is only 15 minutes. Our stay was the first week of June and it seemed to us that there were very few tourists. Personally, I liked the quiet of the city - restaurants were never full, there were no lines for museums and all the local stores were easily accessible. It was hot however (90 degrees and higher fahrenheit) and it was very humid. I didn't really mind since we had lots of time by the pool and the beach, but some people might find it overbearing. The old city has some truly great restaurants. There are many fancy somewhat pricey restaurants and also there are plenty of cheaper places as well. We ate at a different place each night and always had a quality meal. Our favorites were La Comunion and Brujas de Cartegena.

"Upscale beautiful. Friendly staff"
Very much enjoyed 3 days at the Casa San Augustin. The staff was courteous friendly and efficient. Our flight arrived early am, but our room was prepped and ready within the hour. We were delighted to find that our deluxe room had been upgraded to a suite. The beds were very comfortable and the AC was a welcome respite after walking about the city. Included breakfast was quite good with sit down service cooked to order. The front desk was helpful in arranging tours and dinner reservations. The only downside was wifi a bit patchy in areas of the suite. But worked well by the pool and restaurant. Finally would not recommend dinner at the hotel restaurant. Service snd food at dinner was inconsistent especially with numerous good restaurant choices within walking distance.

Pocket Guide: Cartagena Walled City, Cartagena Hotel with a Concierge Hotels

Step within the old city walls to explore the rich history of Cartagena, whose potent mix of cultures inspired the Nobel-Prize winning writer Gabriel García Márquez. During the colonial period Cartagena Bay was the embarkation point for ships carrying gold back to Spain, which made it a ripe target for pirates, leading to the construction of the fortifications still visible in the district.
