The staff makes this place. They could not be more considerate and thoughtful. We mentioned it was our anniversary; Marge made a dinner reservation in the most romantic restaurant, with a dessert surprise.
When we returned we found our room totally dusted with rose petals and an ice bucket with champagne and glasses waiting. The 300 year old, restored structure has a charming pool courtyard complete with all the
period decor and many old dripping candles. Unfortunately there is no elevator and three floors.

I was thrilled with this property. Interesting, spotlessly clean, creative, comfortable. Superlative staff. My room was relatively small but I adored the oak and mahogany built ins, the thoughtful use of tile for main areas and for accents, and the utilitarian electrical set up (manual switches that work, as compared to over-electronic junk in some wanna-be hotels). I travel a lot and use Expedia a lot and this is the best review I've given. This is not an over the top fancy hotel where you waste money for the sake of wasting money - it's a very nice property where I was quite happy. The hotel is in an adapted use older building so there are lots of corners and surprise interior views and I expect every room is different.

Felt truly as a welcomed guest. From arrival to departure was never short of attention and good service. On a car trip about six hours away, the hotel personnel took the time and care to call us (called the taxi driver) around 10:00 PM to confirm if all was well and what would be out estimated time of arrival. Very impressed.
