Beautiful and cozy, but the room was quite small - we stayed in the most economical option. The staff were great.

Very helpful staffPosted Oct 28, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, excellent bathroom facility, excellent breakfast. Good price
Location: Outside the old city wall, but a short walk to the center of the old city
We arrived early at the hotel and the staff not only checked us in quickly, but set the TV on for us to watch the second half of the Real Madrid Barcelona game being shown live on TV. The room was small but clean and the shower was excellent, expecially after coming back from a so called luxury hotel on the Isla del Rosario 3 times more expensive with not enough running water to take a shower. Breakfast was excellent. Definetely happy about the Hotel and the price.

Nice top terrace with jacuzzi. Good breakfast. Apparently room don't have room with outside windows. Air conditioning (mini split) very loud and uncomfortable.

An Oasis in the midst of a bustling barrioPosted Aug 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel is located in the charming, bustling Bohemian Gestameni neighbourhood, with its wonderful restaurants, lounges, clubs, hostels, art Centers and local families. It also has the advantage of being located next to the old city, which is enclosed by walls. The hotel staff were extremely kind and helpful, fluent in English and obviously Spanish. The interior of the hotel provides for a beautiful blend of Spanish hacienda architecture and decor with hints of Indigenous inspiration, particularly evident in the woodwork in the rooms. The rooftop pool while shallow provides for an extremely soothing experience, with it's surrounding hibiscus flowers and baby royal palms. The free breakfast was delicious and generous. The bed large and extremely comfortable with a nice TV with many channels including English language ones. The only limitation with my room was the lack of windows, otherwise it was perfect. There was some natural illumination of the room through skylights in the ceiling. I must add that it is an extremely romantic hotel too, and seemingly Queer positive, having spent time here with someone special. I will definitely be staying at this hotel again.
Beautiful hotelPosted Aug 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
The building was beautiful. It is located near a backpacker party area, which is a little off the main old town area. I had trouble finding the hotel. Excellent experience.

ZimmerPosted Aug 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
Leider hatten wir kein Tageslicht im Zimmer. Das macht einen längeren Aufenthalt unmöglich. Ansonsten ein sehr!!! stilvolles Hotel.

Cousy wonderful hotel overallPosted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: All about details, very good taste
Cons: El agua de la ducha no se emposetaba, parece que por la inclinación no tenia un buen desagüe.
Location: Close to historical center
Great hotel, beautiful facilities. We had a great romantic experience

Charming Boutique Hotel everPosted Jul 25, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness, beautiful interior simple relaxing decor. Attention to detail, professional staff.
Location: It is at a walking distance to downtown. They are located at Barrio Getsemani. About 2 blocks from Plaza de la Trinidad.
I am very grateful to the staff at Casa Canabal Hotel Boutique. I recommend the 3 rooms that have balconies to the street on their second floor. The hotel is charming and small. They place a lot of attention on detail. Their decor just inspired relaxation and comfort. I suggest you stay at either of the 3 rooms that have balconies to the street. Their price is reasonable. The location is exactly what I was looking for. So if you are into experiencing life in Cartagena, this is a great spot. Fruit vendor's walk by their street very often, the homes and or buildings adjacent to the hotel are colorful and colonial. I will definitely recommend this hotel to whoever wants to experience Cartagena and their culture.
