“Great for the price”
I stayed at the Days Inn Rome for one night after a job interview in town. It was easy to find and in a convenient location (close to generic restaurants, a Starbucks, and a 10-minute walk from Broad Street). The hotel is pretty basic, while the carpets are worn and the interior looks a little haggard, it really was one of those "you get what you pay for" type of things. I was welcomed by a polite elderly woman and my room was spacious. I did notice an off-color stain on the towel bathmat, but again, I wasn't expecting 5-star service.
I wanted to use the pool, but I must have come on a busy night, as it was filled with kids. Instead I got a nice milkshake at Steak 'n' Shake and walked to Broad Street, where I enjoyed looking at the different stores and got a delicious dinner -- I would definitely suggest taking the stroll over that way.
When I returned, the kids were still out by the pool and being a bit rowdy, even though the pool was technically closed. A couple hours passed and they still weren't indoors, so I had to be "that person" and called the front desk to ask what the dealio was (my room faced the pool and I was on the first floor, so I could hear everything). The front desk employee was very nice and said he would see what was going on, and 10 minutes later, there was peace and quiet! So -- great service. :)
