Back Again!

Posted May 23, 2015
Pros: Location, scenery, cleanliness, comfort, fairly simple, just a decent place to stay!
Cons: Everything seems fine to me!
I was here in mid November 2014 during the only real winter weather for the season. My objective of my stay then as it was this time was to use The Columbia River Inn as a base for day hiking, being the Pacific Crest Trail (among other nearby trails) passes nearby. I still would like to come back again for more hiking from here!

Room wasn't quite ready at 3:00, but that was no big deal as we had plenty to do in the area anyway. Desk staff was incredibly helpful with local maps and directions!

Fabulous view of the Columbia River Gorge

Posted May 11, 2015
If you love a scenic hotel window, and you love the sound of very long trains going by under your window regularly, then you are going to love this hotel as much as I did. We had a river-side room, and the view was just unforgettable. I actually am a train fan, and loved the sound of the trains passing - my husband used ear plugs (provided by the hotel) and did alright. I think I would have liked to stay there for a very long time, just looking out the window.

The Best Best Western

This is a beautiful facility in an incredibly gorgeous location...the "free" breakfast is at the restaurant next door and it is a big meal of your choosing...excellent.

Every aspect of the hotel was exceptional.

Cons: Keep it the way it is!
Location: The region offers so many activities and adventure, it has been placed on our bucket list.
The breakfast was the best presentation my wife and I have ever experienced in our motel stays. On a scale of 1 to 5 we both rated the breakfast as a "10." The motel, likewise was a "10" reagrding every aspect (service, cleanliness, staff, facilities). We will definitiely return in the future.

More than just base camp for your Gorge adventures

Posted Apr 7, 2015
This is a wonderful small yet modern hotel on the banks of the Columbia, nestled adjacent to the Bridge of the Gods. The staff were very helpful and welcoming, the facility clean and fresh in all aspects. Powerful WiFi was sufficient to power our devices after a long day of roaming the mountainsides. While dining options are limited in the little hamlet of Cascade Locks, my young kids and I enjoyed our short walk down to the Cascade Locks Ale House for an affordable dinner of a house special pizza and family sized salad (not to mention a quality beer for Dad!). Breakfast came with the room and was served at the restaurant adjacent to the hotel. Quaint western motif decor and dated interior was balanced by the quality of the available breakfast menu for hotel guests. Everyone found something to please their needs and left with full bellies. Yes, there are train tracks on both sides of the river here, and the trains are frequent and close to the hotel on the Oregon side. That being said, the hotel appears well insulated from the noise and we slept like babies. It actually lends to the charm of the location. Get a river view room and bring your binoculars you never know what you may see rolling by on the mighty Columbia! The views of the bridge and river alone are worth it.

Nice view, helpful staff. Great location and they offer good breakfast in the morning. However I found some ants in my room during my stay.

The staff was great! The facility was nice...although you need to be aware of the trains. Lots and lots of trains. Just be aware that at night it can get loud. They do provide each guest with earplugs.
