“Beautiful, romantic, perfect in every way!”

The Grand Hotel La Medusa was absolutely the highlight of our trip! We fell in love with this beautiful hotel and the amazing, romantic gardens. It was perfect for celebrating our 25th anniversary! Everywhere you look it is just beautiful. There are outdoor speakers with music playing 24/7, and we found lots of spots for dancing! The train ride from Naples had us a little worried about where we were going because the area didn't look all that nice, even at the station in Castellemare, but once we got to the hotel, it was like we were in another world. It was the most beautiful, romantic setting. We had a shuttle to the train station every morning so we could go sightseeing, and upon our return they would send a car for us (for a cheap price). The staff was so very friendly and helpful. Every request we made was taken care of. The breakfasts were superb. The dinners didn't appeal to us and were a little pricey, so we ate at a local place called La Brace, which was good. The room was very beautiful, a good size, and immaculate. I just can't say how much we enjoyed staying here. I have already told my daughter she should have her wedding here! If I am ever belssed to get back to Italy, I will plan the trip around staying at La Medusa!

“Beautiful hotel.”

A lovely hotel, gracious staff,BEAUTIFUL grounds. Our room had a lateral view of the water and a full on view of Mt Vesuvius. Wow. You do need a car as it is outside Sorrento in the hills. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a suite, nice!

“This hotel is paradise: staff, property & care is exceptional!”

This is a perfect hotel for enjoying being spoilt! The location is good to visit Pompeii or Naples but the immediate community is rather run down. The staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming. EVERYONE at the hotel went out of their way to ensure that our stay was wonderful and memorable. We can't say enough about the beautiful grounds and luxurious atmosphere. This hotel was absolutely perfect: plan day trips and relax and enjoy each evening by the pool, in a garden lounge or an extremely comfortable inner lounge and then a great meal on the terrace.

“Extremely Satisified!!! Will go back!”

I cannot say enough wonderful words to describe the staff!!!! Helpful, friendly, always pleasant and extremely accommodating in every way! The breakfast buffet was very good. They offer a variety of foods, and will cook eggs to your order. The fresh squeezed OJ and the oranges themselves are superb (grown on the grounds!). Very nice parlor for afternoon tea/coffee. Very clean.

“Great experience”

The charming staff coupled with the beautiful locale, overlooking the Bay of Naples makes for a storybook experience. Hey, how can you wrong when you're staying in a converted 18th century chateau with all of the modern amenities of the 21st century. Elegant restaurant in hotel as a bonus, and well priced!

“Can't wait to go back”

Grand Hotel La Medusa is a very pleasant hotel, with a great swiming pool, a beautiful garden, confortable, big and clean bedrooms. It is an excellent place to stay with the family when travelling to Costa Amalfitana.

“Cow lilies, grand pianos and fresh oranges”

This ia a fabulous venue, marble and tile, cow lilies, grand pianos and orange groves. The staff was extremely helpful. They saw to our every need. We were there off season, so food was sparse in the hotel, but there's a good place to eat across the street. As an American, I particularly appreciated small amenities that are common in the States, but often missing in Europe -- top sheets, covers other than smoothering duvets, slippers -- yet the experience was delightfullly Italian and European.

“Fabulous stay!”

Honestly, I don't understand what makes this a 4* hotel. It's really 5* all the way. Lovely in every respect, excellent, friendly service. Enough so that I actually reviewed it (I never do). The only down side I suppose is their restaurant is being remodeled and there's nothing particularly good close by. Easy access to Pompeii by car, maybe a 15 min drive.

“Wonderful hotel, though not in Sorrento”

Lovely hotel and excellent service. It's not in Sorrento....need to ride a local train from there to get to. So if you wanted to experience Sorrento and don't have an extended stay then you may be better served to come here another time as it is a lovely hotel with a gorgeous pool and grounds.

“Beautiful Villa”

We enjoyed our stay. The staff is very helful and do speak good English. Unfortunately, we had only booked a double and needed a triple so I had to pay 40 Euro's for the extra bed. The other problem is that the Hotel is not near anything else. There is a shuttle at certain times for free to the train staation, but unless you book in advance you would not know that, sometimes are free and others not. Also the resturant onsite is very pricey. We walked up the street to a very nice place for dinner while we were there. This would be a great destination wedding or just a retreat type vacation.
