Sort of like a sketchy K-mart vs a tidy TargetPosted Mar 4, 2014
Pros: Good things: Place is very well insulated. We rarely used the heat. And when we did the heat blasted hot air like crazy. Close to Red Mtn.
Cons: New pots & pans!! Remove plastic pillow cases. Plastic = crunching sounds A proper hot tub cover. Update kitchenettes
Location: Close to Red Mountain. Ski, snowboard, snowshoe.
What we paid was too much for the value. We stayed 3 nights. The first off-putting thing we encountered was the sign saying "NO BOARDS/SKIS IN THE ROOMS" or a $250 fine would be assessed to our credit card. I mean, I understand maybe some careless folks may have damaged the room in the past, but most people can manage having boards/skis in the room without issue. After all, one goes there in the winter to ski or ride. The other issue was the hot tub. It was not hot. Warm maybe, but not hot. This was due to the cover being a 1-2" cheap piece of foam versus a proper hot tub cover. The hot tub area just wasn't very inviting. The beds were pretty uncomfortable and we joked the pillows were plastic pillows b/c they had this lame plastic covering on them and then a pillow case on top, as if to protect the pillow from some grotesque human fluid. We couldn't have paid extra for the kitchenette if we had known the cookware was unusable. The pots and pans were chipping Tephlon profusely. Not safe. As a result, we could not use the stove. Also the only sink was the sink in the kitchen.

Good price, close to ski hillPosted Feb 3, 2014
The hotel has friendly staff and is minutes from Red Mountain for a good price. Breakfast included toast or cereal which is good. The bed was quite comfortable, but my only real negative comment is yoy can't bring your skis into the room. Rossland is a ski town so I found this odd and when you have expensive gear its concerning to leave it in the car and if you don't dry it out the edges can rust.

Close to Rossland and Red Mountain ResortPosted Jan 31, 2014
Pros: Economical, convenient location to town and Red Mountain resort. Overall good value.
Cons: This is an older motel with some wear and tear so a little upgrading could help.
Location: It's about a 5 minute drive to the Red Mountain Resort. There is also a shuttle that comes by several times a day with transportation to the ski hill
Not much to tell - We stayed here overnight on a one day trip to Red Mountain - great ski hill. It was all we needed for an overnight stop. I found out they had a hot tub but we didn't get a chance to use it. I was surprised to se a new flat panel TV in the room - usually find an older style TV in an older motel.

Pros: The manager was very friendly and helpful and plenty of hot water for good tub soak after a long day in the car.
Cons: That heater fan!
Location: Skiing, shopping, hiking, eating
The only complaint was the heater fan made a lot of noise turning on and off.

What I needed it to be.Posted Sep 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
Only stayed here one night. Truth known, once I got finished the work I had gone to Rossland to do, I was only in the room from 11 pm-4:30 am. The owner (or perhaps employee) that checked me in, was friendly and helped me find the location I was looking for. The room was clean, had a small fridge (bonus), the bathroom was well stocked and sparkling. The bed was comfortable and I slept easily in it. Would book here again if I was to return.
