Lot's of stairs.Posted Oct 5, 2013
Pros: Close to downtown
Cons: TV in the room and mentions the number of stairs in the posting.
Location: Close to downtown, plenty of restaurants. We were only staying overnight on our trip from Vancouver to Calgary so never planned to do any things/
Well located close to downtown and Nelson being a town built in the mountains the number of stairs was likely expected, however never being in Nelson before it was a bit of a surprise. We were very pleased with out overnight stay.

Nice B&B close to townPosted Sep 20, 2013
Pros: The B&B was VERY clean and quiet. Breakfast was good and filling. The owners/staff very accommodating.
Location: Nelson is lovely with an artsy feel. Great restaurants. Hot Springs nearby, quaint towns, artisans, beautiful scenery.
We were traveling on the "Selkirk Loop" enjoying a birthday road trip. The B&B was located one block from the main shopping/restaurant street in Nelson. The room was very clean and nicely appointed and secure. The owners, Sally and Chris, and their assistants did a wonderful job and very accommodating. My husband's only complaint was the "private" bathroom was down the hall and not in our room. In the end, it was not a problem. We would not hesitate to return or recommend.

An extraordinary B&BPosted Sep 13, 2013
Pros: The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious. The owners are very personable, ready to offer tips about the community and its assets.
Cons: Off-street parking is in a narrow alley behind the establishment. That's as good as it is going to get in Nelson.
Location: Nelson is described as "four hours from anywhere, and worth the trip." Yep, that describes it perfectly. A creative, funky town off the beaten path.
We had a tremendous stay at the Cloudside Inn. It is a great find - one block off the zany Baker Street, surrounded by great eateries, and comfortable in every way.

Nelson carshowPosted Sep 9, 2013
Pros: it is charming
Location: just one block of mainstreet, so you can walk to everything, come back sit on one of the decks and rest
This is the 2nd time we stayed there, we will most defiantly stay there again next year. The Bed and Breakfast is beautiful, very tastefully done, very clean and the lady of the house just so nice.

My only complaint is that their private bath was down the hall.

Character b&b in old townPosted Sep 5, 2013
Pros: Could not fault it. Lovely decor and ambience, very friendly and helpful staff. Parking at rear, so don't be put off by parking meters on street.
Cons: Hard to be picky; we did not book in time to have ensuite, but shared bathroom was next door.
Location: In old part of town, lots of eatibg places and shops.
We were recommended to go to Nelson, and wish we'd planned our trip to stay more than one night. Nelson is encouraging the renovation of their historic buildings, and The Cloudside Inn is one of them. Lots of eating places, small shops, lots of craft outlets with some very good (with a few not so good, as you'd expect). We had an evening meal in The Hume Hotel Library. Good food, reasonable price. Decor a little dark, but superbly entertained by a guitarist and singerduo performing standards in a jazz style. Apparently tutors from the music school perform there frequently, so the performances are high quality. Other guests enjoyed their own choice of venue and meal, equally happy - there is a wide choice. Didn't have time to check out the riverboat and other attractions.

Delightful, comfortable B&B close to DowntownPosted Aug 25, 2013
Pros: Location close to downtown, close to excellent local coffee house, comfortable beds, safety of house (automatic combination locks), off-street parking
Cons: All individual room toilets, but sharing was not a big deal
Location: Shopping is fun in the artsy Nelson community. "The Sage" restaurant, serving small plates and an excellent selection of BC wines is within 4 blocks.
The host was very helpful when we arrived on our motorcycle, and was able to recommend several "non-touristy" restaurants and shops in Nelson. Breakfast was very nice, and I enjoyed chatting with the other guests. The shared bath (for our particular reservation) was not a difficulty at all.

Cloudside Inn stands out as a marvelous restoration/maintenance and excels in hospitality and warmth. Every request is positively received and achieved if at all possible. A wonderful stay and our heartiest endorsement to others.
