Pros: The $10.00 Gift Certificates to Ric's at the other Prestige Inn for Breakfast.
Cons: Train and air conditioning
Location: Backs onto railway tracks about 40 feet away. Does have a view of the lake.
Hotel backs onto railway tracks, which it does not advertise. When we checked in we were told that a train would come through between 2 am and 7 am. The two nights we were there it came through about 3 am and woke us up both nights. The air conditioner in the room was very noisy and because it was 32 c outside we had to turn it on. I let the front desk know the first evening that it was noisy and they told us that they would have someone look at it. That did not happen so between the train and the air conditioner we had two bad sleeps.

overall a good experience. I did not find the motel right away because there was no sign at street level (facing traffic) and drove by it a couple times. the sign is on the building quite high up and they have trees on the edge of the property. also I did not use the breakfast coupon they gave me. I would have had to go to their 'sister' motel to use it and that did not appeal to me.

Terrible parking. Was no informed when reservation was made that there is a train that passes right next to the hotel in the middle of the night blasting it's horn. Hotel parking is also very small so you may end up Parking in their "overflow" parking which is a gravel road that is a pretty unrealistic distance to the hotel especially if you are carrying things. Many stairs in hotel would make it very disabled person unfriendly.

There was a major defect. For people who carry large piece of luggage, they must hand carry it up a few steps to second floor as the elevator cannot reach there. Otherwise the rest are OK. The staff warn me there may be train pass by close to the hotel at night or early in the morning. I am lucky this didn't happen to me.

Upon checking in, they had our reservation, yet not what we had booked with expedia. We booked a king room, and they gave us 2 queen beds. When I informed them of this at the desk they couldn't do anything. The girl working that checked us in didn't know what to tell us. She told us to talk to the woman working in the morning. When we went to talk to her after the night and still having our 2 queen beds we spoke to a rude woman at the front desk who couldn't do anything for us and had us pay and left. I showed them the itinerary that I had and they still did not want to accomodate us. Never will I stay there. I never received what I had booked and they didn't want to help at all. If you want incompetent and rude staff stay there.
