“WE LOVED THE HOTEL ST LAUREN!”

December is out-of-season for this hotel, but that was not reflected by the staff and condition of the hotel. Those manning the front desk were pleasant and helpful. The cleaning crew was the same. This building was constructed in 1987 to resemble an old-style mansion. It is super quaint, yet still comfortably modern. The small room did not deter. It was clean, comfy and inviting. The walk from the Catalina Express docks was one that anyone without major health woes could handle with ease. Takes about 10 minutes. We enjoyed the stroll. No need for a cab. The hotel is on a relatively busy street that feeds into the areas above the beachfront. The endless parade of golf carts were surprisingly noisy, and you will hear them through the heating/cooling unit below the bay window. However, they don't very early, nor that late, so it did not detract from our extremely pleasant stay. The shower beat virtually all other hotels in our experience, and is a special treat for taller travelers. Oh, and DO NOT FAIL TO SPEND LOTS OF TIME UP ON THE TOP DECK. WHAT A VIEW!

We had a great stay at this hotel. The sixth floor patio has an incredible view at day and night, the rooms are clean, walk in closet and big bathroom. Overall a great experience.

The Hotel St. Lauren was charming and perfectly located with great views of the surrounding hills of Avalon. The bed was comfortable and the room itself was clean and roomy.

Just loved, loved Hotel Saint Lauren, it was clean, staff was very friendly. Only thing was hotel was located on a hill not too bad but it was a walk after hubby & I did some drinking...If you don't drink then you won't care about the walk...Will stay again...

“Wonderful Victorian with excellent service!”

First of all, we arrived well before checkin at around 11 AM. The guy at the desk, Jacob, whisked us through checkin and told us that early checkin would be no problem. Next I casually asked him if a room upgrade was possible, and he gave us a fifth floor room with a balcony and view. We thoroughly enjoyed the room, and the rooftop patio with a breathtaking view of the Catalina Harbor. Our friends who were traveling with us stayed at another hotel and paid considerably more for their room, and they did not have an elevator, a rooftop patio, or as nice a view. I would highly recommend the Hotel St. Lauren to everyone traveling to Catalina.

“Best getaway hotel on Avalon”

Had a wonderful stay at the Hotel St. Lauren last week. Everyone on staff was very friendly and helpful. It's only a small hike down the hill to the beachfront, shops, restaurants and casino.

Especially enjoyed the rooftop patio--great view! Spent a couple of afternoons just relaxing there. Convenient location and helpful staff.

The only draw back to our experience was the noise of the golf carts throughout the night. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly, very helpful as we had special needs and three rooms. Overall great experience.
