"Spectacular B&B!"
We stayed at the B&B Globetrotter during our weekend trip to Catania, Sicily. The B&B was located within walking distance from the bus and train station, and was close to all of the best restaurants, shopping, and sights that Catania has to offer. Sofia was incredibly sweet, helpful and so accommodating to make our visit perfect. The customer service at Globetrotter was above and beyond and I would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for an authentic stay while visiting Catania.

"Highly recommended."
Casa Barbero is a very tastefully decorated and comfortable B&B in the heart of Catania. An excellent breakfast is served in the delightful courtyard garden and Antonio is able to give you advice on how to get around and which restaurants and bars he recommends. Antonio also offers a shuttle service to and from the airport at a rate that is cheaper than the taxi. Most places of interest in Catania are within walking distance. There is a metro station just up the road from which you can take the short journey to the Central station in order to catch buses or trains to see other parts of the island. I took the express bus service to Taormina for a day trip (about I hour each way) and another trip to the small coastal town of Acitrezza (about 30 minutes) for a long lunch overlooking the sea.

"An ideal hotel"
Everything about the Liberty Hotel is excellent. Above all, it is so tastefully appointed in "Liberty style" (i.e., Art nouveau), down to the smallest of details, that it simply a great pleasure to stay in it. The location is good -- very quiet, a true oasis amidst the chaos of fascinating Catania -- a 10 minute walk to the heart of the city. The breakfast is good (not lavish) and the service first rate. As a widely experienced and demanding traveller, I rarely have stayed in such a faultless hotel.

"Excellent hotel, great staff, conveniently located"
Staff was very accommodating, pleasant and knowledgeable about the area. The hotel itself was very pleasant and well maintained and offered a great continental breakfast outdoors. It was conveniently located to many historic sites, as well as to the train station. We would definitely stay there again.

"Dad and three teen-age girls loved this hotel"
Primarily, it was the friendliness of the staff (plus the local shop-keepers and the other guests!) that stood out - an extremely amenable and amiable place to stay. A couple of points to note - the hot tub shown in the website photos is only for the use of people staying in the penthouse suite, so don't expect that. Secondly, the pool is lovely but not enormous - if you were planning lengths in an Olympic sized pool, this ain't for you. That said, the pool is located in a great little sun-trap but with enough shady spots to either choose to sun-bathe or cool off, it was really clean and plenty big and deep enough for three teenagers (plus the other guests) to lark about in. Thirdly, the location is out in the suburbs of town with no amazing restaurants nearby (but the local pizza, patisserie and fish restaurant have decent food at very low prices) - but town is either 15 mins by bus or a 30 min hike away... You can take a taxi, and if you do ask the hotel to book it. Hailing a cab on the street is massively expensive (even by London standards). Or, take the free shuttle bus laid on by the hotel - either to the town centre or to the beach (the bus leaves the hotel at 10 am, and returns at 4:30pm so there is not much flexibility there - we used the free bus in the morning on some days and returned via public bus or taxi on some days). Hotel decor is fab - my eldest said it was as if we had a rich Italian friend and we were staying in his home!!
