“Really liked it”

Wonderful hotel with helpful staff and a great breakfast. My only problem was the door handle to the room. We used it for the beginning and the end of the trip and they honored our request for the same room. Coffee and snacks for a 5 am departure.

“Beautiful--will stay again”

This hotel is beautiful!! A little difficult to find late at night, but easily found during the day and just about 4 KM from the airport. Rooms are huge and beautifully appointed. There is a hotel garage that I recomend you use for 12 Euro a day. English is spoken and the breakfast is very extensive and good. It is air-conditioned (critical in Sicily). Well worth the money.

“Excell;ent Holiday Venue”

A very comfortable, welcoming hotel. The staff were extremely helful and the highest standards were maintained at all times. We found it very convenient for the town. We would stay there again

“Dated decor and breakfast needs work but good value”

Good location just off Via Etnea. Staff behind desk helpful. Decor is bad, but you can definately look past that and see the big room, great balcony overlooking greenery and the only bathtub we got in Sicily! Breakfast however was abysmal. TINY breakfast room for the size of the hotel, very warm, and no one managing it. Everything ran out, all 3 mornings we were there ex. milk, croissants, bread, juice, water etc. Might not be an issue at 7am when it starts but not anytime after 8:30. If you were Italian you were offered specialty coffee but it was not made available to all. Wifi dropped in and out and was slow.

“Experience Sicily for yourself”

Overall my friend and I were satisfied with the Best Western Hotel Mediterraneo but the breakfast could definitely be improved by having more of a choice including more hot breakfast choices pallitable to the English taste. The bedroom was always kept clean and very modern. I would like to see more of a selection of English programmes on the TV which your not having to purchase otherwise you have to learn Italian very quickly.

“Good relation quality/price”

Despite the position (City-centre) and good level of quality, I found extremely convenient the price. It is perfect for me, to stay in the centre, to save money and to have a good quality as well. In the morning, before 7, it is just 15/20 min. to airport, and I always fly in the early morning when I stay in Catania, so it is perfect for me. It is not a good position for people who have to go to airport during the day (could take an hour or even more). I recomend BW Mediterraneo for tourist who likes to visit the city.

“Not particularly impressed”

The description of the hotel was far off the mark. It was situated very far from Town Centre and involved a long walk along dirty, smelly and damaged pavements. Not all rooms had a balcony - our friends only had a window. No chairs for use on balcony - had to use the room's uprights - not very comfortable for relaxing. The tea making facilities were only available on request and were not maintained daily - we had to ask daily for milk and cups! The breakfast could only be described as adequate and often the trays were not replenished. It seemed to be a case of 'when its gone its gone'. On the plus side, the hotel was immaculate. Our bed linen was changed daily and the staff were pleasant and helpful.

“Average Hotel in Questionable Location”

The hotel was of average to good quality. The hotel personnel were very good; they appeared to genuinely want to be of service. The breakfast was good but average by Italian standards. The location was questionable for our purpose as we planned to travel by bus to Taormina. The distance from the hotel to the bus station required taxi service which cost more than the bus fare from Catania to Taormina. Of more concern was the neighborhood. We were warned by hotel personnel and by relatives to be careful when walking after dark. The threat was more from robbery than from personal injury.
