Very nice quiet hotel.

Pros: See above.
Cons: There was a problem with mosquitoes because we opened our window at night. Perhaps a note warning of the problem could have helped.
The breakfasts were excellent. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner in the garden area. A surprise piano recital was greatly enjoyed by us and a number of guests. The hotel was full of old-world charm.

The room was large for European standards, was very clean, and everything worked flawlessly. The breakfast was very good, quality, quantity, and setting-wise, and the front desk staff were knowledgable and efficient.

Nice hotel

Pros: Helpful staff. Mini bar with water was a bonus. Shower was great. Excellent free wifi!!
Cons: The bed was terribly hard, my back hurt, but I believe I was in the most standard of rooms. More bedding for the cold nights.
Location: 15-20 minute walk to most touristy areas, only a handful of corner pastry shops for food.
The staff is amazing. Helped me with my lost luggage, could not thank them enough! Location is about 15 minutes to the Piazza Duomo area and 15 min walk to the higher end shops. Could not figure out the buses. Corner pastry shops within a few minutes walk. A tourist friendly map or other brochures at the front desk would have been helpful, that and some bus/local transportation options would have helped me to plan my day better.

The neighborhood was frightening. It looked very bad and rundown, I was afraid. The air conditioning did not work. I am glad that we had to leave at 5am before anyone was awake. We thought the hotel was much closer to the airport because we were flying out early the next morning. We can't comment on the breakfast because we left before it was being served.

Pros: Excellent helpful staff, nice courtyard for hanging out, very quiet
Cons: Air conditioning did not work well in our room and there was hair in the shower when we checked in.
Location: Most amazing restaurant of our entire trip- Les Tres Bocches very nearby. You have to love fish/seafood because there is no menu- all fish...
Great location if you don't like to stay in the hub of tourist craziness. It was definitely an easy walk to everything we wanted to see, quiet, and the staff sent us to some of the most amazing restaurants of our entire trip all in the neighborhood all NOT tourist restaurants. In fact we were the only tourists in any of them. That was great.

Pros: The Courtyard.
Cons: The Aircon.
Location: Very good location.
In June 2011 I stayed at this hotel and was so happy with it, when we had a family holiday this June we chose it again. I really think staff at reception can make or break a hotel. For the first two days the Aircon in three of ours rooms was just about nonexistent, I complained so many times and it fell on deaf ears until there was a change of staff, then everything changed and they could not have been more helpful. We were moved to the opposite side of the hotel and all was good.
