liberty hotelPosted Sep 16, 2014
Lovely hotel, slightly off the main roads, easy walking to the main parts of town. 30 euros taxi from the airport, friendly staff, lavish rooms with tall ceilings, free wifi, cold continental breakfast which is good, quiet with only a small number of rooms and suites. would return and recommend.

A GemPosted Aug 18, 2014
Cons: More variety of TV channels
Location: Set in a squalid street (but don't let that put you off - most streets in Catania are squalid - you get used to it. Very close to the centre - 10 min
Had a wonderful stay at the Liberty. Staff are very helpful indeed - helped me plan my trips every day. I had a ground floor internal room with a very dark window onto a tiny courtyard - fine for me, but probably not if you wanted to stay in your room a lot.

An ideal hotelPosted Jul 27, 2014
Everything about the Liberty Hotel is excellent. Above all, it is so tastefully appointed in "Liberty style" (i.e., Art nouveau), down to the smallest of details, that it simply a great pleasure to stay in it. The location is good -- very quiet, a true oasis amidst the chaos of fascinating Catania -- a 10 minute walk to the heart of the city. The breakfast is good (not lavish) and the service first rate. As a widely experienced and demanding traveller, I rarely have stayed in such a faultless hotel.

Nice hotel, in a good location.Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: The staff, the rooms, the location.
Cons: The breakfast buffet could have been a little better.
Location: Catania city, Mount Etna.
This is a lovely hotel, about 10 minutes walk from the main centre. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are well appointed and spotlessly clean.

Great hotel in a great locationPosted Jun 21, 2014
Pros: It was a beautiful hotel, with Old World charm. The hotel was clean and neat, the rooms spacious, the bed very comfortable.
Cons: Nothing. We had a great stay.
Location: The location was great. We were able to walk to museums, a tour at the monastery nearby, restaurants, shopping, the squares in the city, etc.
We stayed at this hotel following a tour we had completed. We wanted a nice hotel that was centrally located. This hotel fit the bill. It was close to great restaurants, and within walking distance to museums, and other tourist attractions. The staff was extremely courteous, and always helpful. We even enjoyed the morning breakfasts in their dining area (included in the cost of the room). Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Catania, Sicily.

Great hotelPosted Jun 8, 2014 on Hotels.com
This is a wonderful, small hotel. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is comfortable and well appointed. Being quite small breakfast is an adequate but modest again - but not a problem!

Fab staff and hotel. Hotel services lacking thoughPosted Jun 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel inside is lovely and staff couldn't have been more helpful and polite. Breakfast was great and hotel immaculately clean. However, I was disappointed that there is nowhere for 2 people to sit and relax in comfortable chairs in the rooms as there's only one comfy chair each room. There was no tea/coffee making facilities or even an iron you could borrow, there is a washing, ironing and dry leaning service but as my suitcase full of linen clothes were clean, I just wanted to run a quick iron over them ..but no iron available. I disposed of my travel iron and kettle years ago because most places now provide them. It seems Sicilian hotels don't as we had the same experience in Taormina.
